This was my point last week. Two teams will most definitely lose ahead of us. If anything, we win, and we finish at best 6th. I just don’t know how I feel about it though. We aren’t exactly playing lights out right now.

No doubt in my mind Ohio State jumps is if they win the big ten while were idle

Not if they lose to michigan this weekend...could happen...

It could really happen. ND would have to crush Stanford first. But looking at the teams above ND and who plays who, there is definitely a shot. Not counting on it even remotely, but you never know in college football. Crazy things happen.

41-8.

Full stop.

Miami, even if they lost to Clemson is in ahead of us...

Alabama, even if they lose to Auburn and play no title game is in ahead of us...

Georgia, even if they only get an Auburn rematch is in ahead of us...

There is no hope of getting into the playoff now. The Georgia blow out loss and our own fat egg in Miami and lackluster win against Navy ended that for another year.

I am more concerned with finding a way to win Saturday and then in a bowl to get to 11-2 on the year and a likely top-5 finish. For my personal psyche and to salve my wounded fan-pride, 11-2 is a must....otherwise, its just another in a series of sub-par seasons in a 2+ decade string of them...

Forget the playoffs...

If we can find enough fortitude and strength to squeak by Stanford, we have a long time to heal and get healthy. I believe that we could beat ANY team in a bowl, including Ohio State if we get to full strength! Let's find a way to get a win this Saturday!

Notre Dame is absolutely elminated from playoff contention unless they go to Stanford and win 83-17. Even then it probably wont matter. There is a ZERO percemt chance ND gets in.

Have to win our final two and finish Top 5 in country and build for future

I don’t think we are any more banged up than Stanford or any other team in the country at this time in the season. We have no excuse for not beating Stanford. We have more talent and better athletes in most all of the key positions. Only way we don’t win is BK not having this team prepared and a properly executed game plan. The latter is why this game is in doubt and not because of injuries or a lack of talent.

Btw, anyone still thinking there is even a slight chance at the playoffs is crazy. Even if there is chaos ahead of us we aren’t getting in—we haven’t shown anything to deserve a top 4 ranking since the WF game.

I’d have to disagree with this. Alabama loses they are not in. They will not put in two teams from the same division of one team didn’t win their conference. Especially, looking at Bama’s schedule. They were ranked number 2 for a long time by the committee because they weren’t that impressed with their schedule. One from the SEC, one from the big10 if it’s an undefeated Wisky team, or a 2 loss Ohio St. team, and one from the ACC. If some chaos happ an then it’s a fight for who’s the best two loss team. I don’t think that’s going to happen. By no way will we see Alabama Georgia and two other teams, or Auburn and Georgia and two other teams. Not even Clemson and Miami will make it like that.

Bovada disagrees with you. Odds of ND winning the championship are 150:1. But, to win the championship implies reaching the playoffs, so, Bovada is essentially saying that ND has a chance of making the playoffs. Not much of a chance, but a chance.

Just because Bovada disagrees with me doesn’t mean they are right! LOL.

Go ahead and lay $100 down though. Hope for all our sakes you win! But I guess there is a zero percent chance of that happening.

Did a little studying, simple path to CFP

1. ND beat Stanford

2. Mich beat Ohio St

3. Bama beat Auburn

4. WVU beat OU or Baylor beat TCU

5. Clemson lose S Carolina or Miami lose to Pitt

6. Ohio beat Wisc

7. Bama beat Georgia

8. Clemson lose Miami

ND lock to CFP

According to Vegas, two of the top 10 teams have virtually NO chance to make it. Us and Penn State . . . I just want us to curb stomp Stanford - the rest would be gravy (yummy, turkey gravy over mashed potatoes . . . oh, sorry, anticipatory cravings . . .)

All of the gameday crew just picked ND in a blind pick of potential two loss teams if they need one to make the playoffs.

It isn’t over yet.

Saw that. Crazy to think that USC has a better blind test than OSU as well

So with Miami losing, they have to win the ACC to move Clemson below us (No chance us being ranked ahead of Miami even if they lose again next week).

If Auburn beats Bama but loses to UGA in the SEC champ, both Bama and Auburn are in trouble.

If Wisconsin loses to Minnesota today but then beats OSU next weekend I think the B10 are out.

If OU loses today and then beats TCU next week the B12 is out.

The spots would then go to UGA, Miami and who? It would likely come down to ND, Bama, and TCU right? Gotta think Bama would get 1 for sure. But I would think ND gets in ahead of TCU every day of the week.

I realize this requires a LOT to go right, but a boy can dream....

I should add that it would probably help if South Carolina beat Clemson today as well

Guys, we have no chance. Not gonna happen.

We know. But it is fun to discuss the 1 percent chance it could happen. We could be the best two loss team when it’s all said and done. BUT, ND has to prove they can get their mojo back and beat Stanford convincingly.

You beat me to it, Gloves.

No. Chance.
