I know, I know. Crazy talk. They don't deserve it. They just got rolled by Miami. Yada yada yada.
But, to be an optimist, I think there is still a path for ND to make the playoffs and it isn't all that crazy.
Ok. St. beats OU in Big12 Title game.
Alabama beats Auburn and Georgia.
Wisconsin beats OSU.
Miami beats Clemson.
That gives you Alabama, Wisconsin and Miami with 0 losses.
Then, every other contender has 2+. You could argue ND, with 4-5 wins over ranked teams and both losses to top 10 teams has the best resume of that group.
You'd have Oklahoma St, Oklahoma, Clemson, Georgia and Notre Dame, with OU, Georgia and Clemson coming off of losses all with 2 losses. Would a Big 12 title put OSU over ND? A 2 loss SEC team couldn't be the second team in right?
Did I miss any other contenders? We aren't that far from total chaos at this point.
