November 12, 20177 yr He is tentative and afraid to get hurt even more so his only weapon (his legs) are gone and he's a putrid thrower.

November 12, 20177 yr I wonder what impact it had that he was wearing a glove on an injured left hand. I imagine that would not have affected his throwing, but that could have been something on his mind in how he handed things. while Wimbush wasn't that good and maybe wasn't expect to be the one to be the best player on the team, Adams was more of a disappointment tonight.

I just think he's streaky. When he's good he's good, when he's bad he's bad. Josh shouldn't have been playing IMO. He didn't look even close to 100%.
November 12, 20177 yr Typical scared Notre dame....no fight. Kelly is the cause of this flat out. Such a bad coach.
November 12, 20177 yr Typical scared Notre dame....no fight. Kelly is the cause of this flat out. Such a bad coach. I agree this was a huge let down, that I attribute to the coaching. The U$C & NC State games were circled because of last year's games against them - humiliation in LA & bitter stubborn stupidity in Raleigh. In both games this year, the team played very well. The let down against Wake was somewhat understandable, but tonight was 2 in a row where they came out flat. (shades of 2016) When they took the field, I had a sinking feeling that we were in trouble. Miami was pumped & ND took the field like commuters getting on the bus for work on Tuesday morning. Add to that, the Miami speed was not taken in to account in the play selection on offense, and the Miami QB had a 'clean jersey' - no DL penetration. Faith can tell us why, on the last factor, but not getting them pumped for a prime time 'rivalry' matchup, and being outschemed on both sides of the ball to me points to the most relevant grade being an "F" for the coaching staff. As to BW & JA, neither played to prior levels, but we have been riding them both very hard all season, and they both show evidence of being 60 - 70% (or whatever # you choose) due to the wear & tear. I'd give both at least a conditional pass. I am hoping for a strong rebound against Navy & the tree. Something along the lines of the last game of the 1966 season would do nicely. Keep the faith, lads (and lasses) better days ahead.

I don't believe this, but if it were true then Kelly should have recruited better players. The buck stops with him. Personally, I think our offensive game plan was atrocious. It was like they learned nothing from the Georgia game.
November 12, 20177 yr Won't say much about Wimbush, but one thing is truly apparent...BK, and his staff, truly make a mess out of their QB's.
November 12, 20177 yr Not only does he struggle to throw, but he doesn't pull the ball and run when he needs to which results in Adams grtting killed because nobody sees Wimbush as a threat to run. He's awful at the run option. Oh well... I think we should just avoid playing games in the city of Miami.
November 12, 20177 yr Won't say much about Wimbush, but one thing is truly apparent...BK, and his staff, truly make a mess out of their QB's. In fairness to Wimbush, the coaching staff learned nothing from the Georgia game. They thought they could get Wimbush outside running the football on the read option, but Georgia and Miami ran him down. They lined up the running back next to the QB and had him take the handoff from a standstill and run sideways, but Georgia was too fast for this slow developing play and so was Miami. They didn't use any designed runs for Wimbush that were creative wrinkles. They didn't move the pocket. They ran their regular running scheme, got shot down and - instead of playing conservatively in their own territory- threw slants when Wimbush had already shown symptoms of innacuracy. Wimbush played poorly, but the game plan was predictable. They disregarded what happened vs Georgia and stuck with their scheme-which Miami had the blueprint for stopping- instead of game planning to counter the problems they had vs. Georgia. A lazy effort by the coaching staff.

I’m frustrated because this was totally avoidable and Miami is a beatable team.

Miami is very beatable but the last two weeks the light bulb has clicked on and they are playing at an elite level at the right time of year
