So I always go on other teams' forums for kicks, but I've been doing it more so this year because we're actually legitimately good so I wanted to see how other teams view us. Here are my observations

Miami fans are currently the most delusional. Their fans insist they have a better defense than Georgia's

NC State fans get the nod for most whiny. I've never seen so many threads created (some go 18-20 pages) on how the refs have it in for them and the ACC is conspiring to keep them down

Michigan fans get the nod for "quickest to blame anyone but themselves"

I know the entire country likes to see ND fans as the most delusional, but after peeking around, most fan bases are just as bad, if not worse. I'm not talking about predictive threads. EVERY fan base will predict their team will blow them out

I'm honestly not trying to be bias, and obviously there are good and bad apples to every group, but AS A WHOLE (key words here), I find ND fans (at least Domer Domain) fairly rational. We base our conversations on evidence and once someone is a tad bit delusional, there are always people to check them. I barely see that on other boards (at least, our opponents this year)

I give Temple a pass because we were their first opponent and it rational thinking would point to ND not being that good this year based on last year. So they were rightly confident coming into South Bend

Basically, does Miami truly have a great defense or are our own Golden-colored glasses getting in the way of our own rational thinking?

Miami is undefeated. I am not shocked they think they are good, they are in for a rude awakening Saturday.

ND fans are not immune from this. Remember the MSPaints advertisements this off season?

I think both fan bases are going to be surprised. We're not gonna get the same team that couldn't close out North Carolina or was losing to Toledo, and we've never seen an away game.quite like this stage this year.. I don't think we'll pull away until middle of the third.

Corysold says delusional.

Opponents averages vs Power 5 opponents and Miami

Points:

Duke..24......6

FSU...18......20

GT.....31......24

Syr....24......19

UNC..18......19

VT.....27......10

So they have held 4 of 6 opponents under their averages vs other Power 5 teams. Not amazing.

Yards Avg Miami

Duke 352 349

FSU. 336 406

GT....478 281

Syr...438 399

NC...331 428

VT....385 299

Again, really only held 1 team well below average in Georgia Tech. So they are a better than average defense, but not Georgia.

Without posting the actual numbers, Miami averages holding opponents 7.3 points under their Power 5 average. Georgia is at 12.3, most of which is Missouri getting 28 on them. Only two times has a team been within 13 points of their average vs Georgia. 4 of the 6 Miami opponents have been.

For reference, ND is averaging 38.7 points vs Power 5 teams this year. So we can expect 31+ if the numbers hold.

I've made 3 posts as GoIrish on their site because the gay cruise post made me very interested in what their fans would have to say and I've been called a bunch of crappy names and have been invited to the blue lot to get my teeth kicked in by some tough guys.

Be sure to ask for Jose, from Little Havana.

Also NDNation clowns doubling down on their own self-importance by claiming sole responsibility for the turnaround.

They told me to google Donnybrook. I don't know what any of that stuff means lol. I'm proud that I don't also. I'm sure I'd get my *** kicked by those guys but that's kinda crazy. I can't even articulate an analogy for threatening physical violence to someone on a forum who'll you'll never meet.

NC State is actually surprisingly worse. Calling friendly ND posters on their site bad names and just telling them to shut up or go away

lol I forgot about NDNation...perhaps that's where ND fans get the bad rap

Ha, I just assumed that was his real name. Does Jose, from Havana mean something else?

I'm lost with all of this Latin American pugnacious vernacular.

If you guy's need any translations it'll be more than happy to help you

Ndnation still exists?! Lmao!

The sad thing, some ND fan walking his kid who doesn’t even get on message boards, will probably get punched in the face by a guy named Jose in the parking lot. Not even knowing why.

I've been to over 200 games in my lifetime, including at Miami, and I've never seen a kid be sucker punched in a parking lot. And if it ever happens, it's just as likely to be a punch thrown by a guy named Joe as it is Jose.

The most delusional fanbase in the WORLD is Penn State.....End of story....

Amen to this. It’s like a cult
