Rotoworld reporting Tennessee five-star 2018 verbal T commit Cade Mays has reopened his recruitment. He is Rivals' No. 14 overall prospect in the 2018 class -- He originally committed to the Vols 2015. He is taking an official visit to Ohio State this weekend and plans on official trips to Clemson, Notre Dame and Georgia and Tennessee.

Great news! Hopefully he falls in love with ND. Kid sounds like a stud. Would be an enormous flip. Any idea when he visits?

Visits for the year end Echoes Banquet. ND is running 4th at best right now.

That could change quickly after he visits. There have been so many kids not expecting much and leaving floored and eager to commit. Time to roll out the red carpet for this one. This kid could be the biggest pickup in the class. How sweet would it be to end up with St. Brown & this stud?

I know it would be a long shot to get him, but my impression is he is an intelligent and spiritual player. Never underestimate the power that having a faith based university can have on a person if that it important to them. It will be hard to pull him from Clemson or Georgia, but let's see how he reacts to all the things ND has to offer and let the cards fall where they may.

Article I read about him sounds like the kid is very serious about winning a title. More serious than even the typical recruit. Think he'd have a great shot right here.

That just makes no sense... Our runningback is up for the Heisman 85% of the reason being our offensive line which has been developed by our coaches. And, yet, we're 4th despite facilities, academics, tradition, exposure, development... WTF? I want to say "kids..." but he's almost 18... I mean, damnit man! You're a football player, not a liberal arts major looking to do nothing with your life! Anyway...bothersome... Just bothersome...

Here is the thing. Recruiting starts earlier and earlier.

'Most of these kids had a top 5 before this season started, when ND was a 3-9 team to them.

If ND continues strong and has another great year next year, that is when it will pay dividends, with 2019 class

Um northern Indiana.

And its not like Georgia is struggling to run the ball. Or Clemson doesn't have better facilities or a much better recent run of success.

Kids from the south typically stay in the south. They have plenty of good options despite what we'd like to believe.

The Clemson stuff is because Amari Rodgers is there. (Amari is a former UTenn quaterback's son if I recall correctly.)

Amari and Cade were teammates at Knox. Catholic last year, not sure if friends but def. teammates.

Incidentally, this is where Harrison Smith came out of.

So ND can get in the game here obviously.

Clemson has 1 OLine in the NFL.

ND has 5 OLine in the NFL. 10 if you count tight ends.

I think ND has a legitimate shot here.

I dont think Notre Dame has a shot here. As optimistic as I am, I just do not see this happening. :(

If the Irish end up with Mays or npf I would be ecstatic
