I guess those "ND fans" should realize our team is comprised mostly of black kids too

I want to see screenshots. Those people are not from the university. probably still stuck in the 80s. However, we are not the thug school Miami is. They're consistent cheaters and celebrate thug life. That's not us. And you can say we're not angels, but there are degrees and we're not even in Miami's league. I F***ing hate their school. They should've gotten the death penalty like USC.

Yep. No question about it. Just look at the ESPN comment section and you’ll see people trolling other teams just for the pure fun of it. As you said, some are fake handles. I wouldn’t look too much into it. We have our bad eggs just as any school does. It is what it is in this day and age.

Do a little research, check from the Charlie era up and we have a lot not to be proud of.

They need to switch to rooting for Michigan. I feel like most Michigan fans I knew growing up were more trailer park-ish.

Franco just posted a link that had some of the same things by Miami fans. Take it with good gesture that they know we are good and it’s a rivalry game...in a sense.

If it's 1988, you're not paying attention. Hell, just read some newspapers. Second, our "not so good" things really aren't that bad. And, we actually suspend the players for entire seasons. Does Miami...? F*** no. You're equivocating apples and oranges... It's typical millenial baloney.

First of all, the Irish are like the Cowboys or Yankees. We have a nationwide following and our fans are unique in that they come from all walks of life. If there are idiots out there spewing racist vitriol, it's because the odds are higher that we'd have "fans" like that....

 

These are the same guys Rattler and I sat next to against Maryland in 2011. They claimed, out loud and for hours, that Derrick Mayes wasn't as good as "William Floyd". Nuff said.

I hope this isn't true, need to have more class than that. if true seems like some ND fans have been watching to much 30 for 30 and are trying to recreate the Catholics vs Convits rivalry.

We have the most polite fans in the nation. Everybody who comes here says that and it's was that way in the 60's and is still like that today.

 

I was in the Orange Bowl in 1989. You want to see hate? I have never seen hate from a fanbase like that. I've been to Michigan, USC, Tennessee, Penn State and other venues and have never seen anything like the hate that I saw coming from Miami fans.

It's the internet where people posting behind anonymous names go to release tension. OF course this happens, but only a fool would generalize an entire fanbase on the actions of anonymous internet fans.

Are the Irish perfect, far from it. But Miami’s program is next level. Go Irish !!

Catholics vs Convicts was greatness. From the Irish point-of-view it summed up the rivalry perfectly. In the late 1980's.

 

That phrase will follow these teams any time they play in the future, and with the ACC contract, there will be many games to come.

 

I have no idea what the players on the U of M team are like now. I don't think Richt wants that mentality on the team now. I'm pretty confident the University does not want that mentality/image/look now.

 

Miami is a good university, ranked #46 in US News and World Report, tied with the University of Wisconsin, ahead of Purdue, University of Washington, and many other schools considered to be very good.

 

At the moment I'm not hating on Miami. That could change, however. That 58-7 drubbing in 1985 was the worst, and those fans were pretty terrible.

Our Athletic director / administration sucks. They've essentially ruined two of the best rivalries in all of college football.

I feel it should be left in the past also. That was a special era that this phrase was for specifically. Today is much different in many ways really. No need to rehash a great era when it doesn't apply in modern times.

Call me crazy and overconfident, but I hope ND comes out with their own turnover chain to mock the hell out of the Hurricanes. Demoralize them on the field and on the sideline. With that said, I agree as well - Catholics vs Convicts "made sense" in 1988. Now? Just leave it alone. It's like a movie franchise that was epic as a first movie and then was hyped and marketed to hell and back for the sequels which were completely different. But, hey, whatever gets viewers I suppose?
