Welcome to the next Will Fuller.

Some serious speed coming NDs way in Porter. He is young for his grade, which should only help his development. Kid has serious upside.

Pretty raw with his routes at the moment, and isn't super twitchy. Put him on a go route though, and not many will hang.

He holds an Alabama offer as well

Porter isn't quite Will Fuller speed but he's up there. He's a better version of Chris Brown. Couple notes: he's grown about 2 inches and put on about 20 lbs. in the last year. Give him a redshirt year to add a little weight, improve route running and continue the speed. Great guy to pair with Kevin Austin's style.

Potential KO return guy in the future?

SoCal WR Geordon Porter Picks The Irish

After narrowing his list to Arizona State, Notre Dame, UCLA, Utah and Washington State, wide out Geordon Porter committed to the Irish moments ago.

"It really came down to Notre Dame and Arizona State," Porter said. "I just felt like Notre Dame was the best school for me not just from a football standpoint but academically as well. That degree from Notre Dame is huge and a big reason why I chose them.

"I had a great official visit and loved the school, the tradition and of course the football program. I have a good relationship with the coaching staff and like the WR coach DelVaughn Alexander a lot. I just fit in really well there and I'm very excited about my decision."

Porter said scheme fit was another big plus for the Irish.

"I like their offense and how they plan to use me," Porter said. "They like to run the football and then play action and see me as a deep threat. They said they don't really have a guy on the team right now with my kind of speed that can get behind a defense.

"When you run the ball as well as they do, it opens up the deep passing game and I think that's one of my strengths. They also want me on special teams returning punts and kicks and as far as playing time and how soon, they said that's up to me. My goal is to work as hard as I can so I can get on the field as soon as possible, that's definitely what I'm shooting for."

Porter said he decided on the Irish about two weeks ago.

"It was a tough decision for sure," Porter said. "All the schools I was looking at were really good choices and I knew I couldn't have made a bad decision. That made it tough though but when I weighed all the pros and cons of each school, Notre Dame was the clear pick for me.

"Once I decided that was the place for me, I slept on it and when I woke up the next morning, I still felt good about Notre Dame so I knew I made the right choice. I decided on them about a week and a half ago and it was a big stress reliever for sure. It's a huge weight off my shoulders and now I can just focus on getting a win this weekend and hopefully helping our team get in and make a run in the playoffs."

Porter suffered a collarbone injury and missed four weeks of his season but is now back in action. He's one of the state's top sprinters as well but said the plan is to just focus on football in college.

Our receivers should be excellent going forward. I think any of us will be quite happy with a better version of Chris Brown, assuming his hands our consistent. Kid is clearly fast, and I get excited thinking about the special teams avenue he can bring.

Do you guys believe nd has a shot at keys and/or st Brown? I can't imagine there is room for 5 receivers in this class if both want in

ND gets the fastest kid in California and USC doesn't even sniff him? The Trojans are headed down a slippery slope to mediocrity.

Apparently ND is in strong position to land Keys, who has a Top 3 of ND, LSU, and Houston. Sources say that LSU is not heavily pursuing him, so it looks like it'll come down to ND or Houston.

We are loading up on receivers for sure in this class. Big or Vegas, what do you know about Keys? Pretty impressive offer list.

Keys is a solid slot with take the top off speed. Dynamic, jet sweep, shifty. I think he would ultimately like to play at LSU because it’s home but it may not be his choice. If ND isn’t considered too far they can win it. Mom is very big on academics but distance could win.

Also forgot to mention above that Porter is about a year young than the rest of his class.

Think St. Brown is a real option. USC will make it tough but his family may lean ND now that changes have been made.

Sounds good. Do you feel the staff has offered Amon-Ra St Brown a starting spot as a true frosh at ND? Some felt that Agholor was worthy of this if Irish and the staff should have/possibly proposed this.

No. But I think they point to Michael Young and Stepherson. They say if you come in prepared then you’ll play because you have more overall talent. It’s fact for this staff, they will find a role for that talent.

Got it thanks. If you had to name one college receiver of the last 10 years, which one does Amon-Ra St Brown compare most to? Just getting excited about the prospect of potentially landing him. I'm just curious, because kid has simply average size but realize he's a phenomenal player.

For some reason he kind of reminds me of Golden Tate actually. Tough kid, solid build, good speed, very good skills. I’ll think about it some more.

Also, one thing with Keys and St. Brown. I believe, as currently set up, St. Brown is announcing before Keys. That’s actually great for ND.
