Think they got it right.

Do think ND has better resume.

And just think, ND is one point away from being no. 1 in nation

Yep. Win and we are in. Go out and continue to smoke teams. They need to beat Wake 49-14. Just like they have be been doing.

I’m not going to worry about it until the conference championship games have happened....still think they will try to create a huge outcry for a 12-1 team over an 11-1 team

But I’m very glad college football thinks ND belongs in the top 3....I think that’s where they belong even though I think we probably lose to OSU and maybe Clemson straight up

Agreed. Also would be the easiest way for them to get ND to join a conference. I do think if we win out we’re in though, but it will be pure chaos if Georgia, Alabama, and ND make the final 4 leaving only one spot open for ACC, B10, B12, and PAC12

Shocked and very happy that OU is ahead of OSU. All the talk about OSU being #3 was insane.

This is awful news my friend, a 12-1 Georgia will go in over ND. That is if the committee values head to head like they seem to be doing in this first ranking.

So we want Georgia to lose twice or go undefeated. Unfortunately I think them losing to Bama and being 12-1 is most likely.

We are far from a lock, we will need three of the other conferences to have a two loss champion. Maybe only 2 as the Pac 12 is a joke this year.

So glad this year's committee said "not so fast my friend" to: Bama being #1 based largely on track record; OSU being ranked ahead of the team they got dominated by; and Wisconsin being unjustly rewarded for beating pretty much nobody.

Looong way to go and many things that could unfold, but I'd sure rather start at #3 than any lower. How bout them Irish!

I think the best part about tonight is that OU is ahead of OSU. Until OU loses, that serves as a block to getting OSU in. And since our loss is much better than OU's, if we keep winning then there's no way OSU jumps us.

Of course the same could be said about us when/if Georgia loses a game.....

...

OSU can definitely jump us, its silly to think otherwise

they could end up with two better wins.

1. Wisconsin

2. Penn State

a lot of our wins and future opponents can easily lose from here on out.

-Miami has looked iffy every game.

-Stanford barely beat a 1-7 team last week.

-NC State still needs to play Clemson.

-Michigan State has to play PSU and Ohio State.

we are not a lock

So it would seem not scoring on that final play had no impact at all? And though we have issues with SoS if our opponents lose, if we win out? I still think we're in. There is some chaos that could ensue, sure, but if we keep winning I think we're sitting fine. And just like our SoS can take a hit, so can OSU, PSU, OU, and Clemson - or any of them could still lose too. If NC State can beat Clemson?

Absolutely agree that we are far from a lock. I have actually been saying that Georgia needs to go 11-2 for a while now. I wouldn't call the Selection Committee consistent over the last three years, but they have been consistent in terms of valuing good wins/solid resume WAY more than a good loss. (See Clemson being #4). So Georgia losing twice won't hurt ND.

I think it could very well be Georgia, Alabama, ND, and then just one of ACC/Big Ten/Big 12/Pac-12.

I honestly think the Pac-12 is out of it already. I think the Big 12 will eat each other up, and it says a lot that TCU and Oklahoma State are sitting at #8 and #11. They'd have to make big jumps to pass ND if they won the conference. Only Clemson could get in out of the ACC - rooting hard for NC State on Saturday. Don't know what to think about the Big Ten. A 12-1 OSU would get in over ND. But an 11-1 Penn State would not. Gotta root for OSU to lose to either Michigan or Michigan State (preferably Michigan State).

Still, very happy to see ND sitting at #3 - exactly where they deserve to be.

I am happy with the ranking though, love how the committee seems to award quality of wins.

They got it right.

This is crazy never thought we would be #3... I will say we have a lot of work to do...but it does feel good to have the committee show us some love for once.

This has been a very unexpected year so I am over joyed....did not see this this kind of year happening....heads down and keep trucking #33

This is off topic, but remember Mitch Vingle? He rated ND #3 in his preseason AP poll. Took a ton of flak. Now ND is 3.

But this week he has them 6th. Lol.
