This is a really really good week for college football. The best week so far this season by far. The 2:30PM slate on Saturday is especially awesome. Big games for ND as far as SOS goes - need USC and MSU to win (I think both are in for tough games that they could easily lose). The other big opponents - Georgia, Miami, and Stanford - should all win.

I'd say Penn state, the Big 10 is going to get a team in, so if PSU wins it sets up either PSU or Wis. PSU beats OSU it eliminates the possibility of two getting in.

psu's schedule is absolute TRASH. I don't think that game matters. If they lose to osu, and both them, and osu end up with 1 loss, psu won't make the conference championship game, and their schedule doesn't hold a candle to ND's.

Yes, and that team could very well be Wisconsin. I have a feeling they will be the only undefeated team after Saturday in that conference.

Losing Love is hurting them bigtime. We really want Stanford to win this game. We need them rated as highly as possible in the final game.

I understand. I'm sure Love being absent is a killer but watching them earlier in the year (can't remember against whom though) even with Love, they looked sloppy and poorly defensed. We can hope they get to the final game with no more losses but if they do, IMO it'll be smoke and mirrors.

 

Then again, I also thought Clemson looked relatively bad in a game earlier this year (not the one they lost).

It doesn't matter if it's smoke and mirrors or how bad they played bad in the 1st half tonight. Them losing no more games prior to our game with them (even it is a farce) could be the difference in us going to the playoff or not being in. Trust me, this last game is an enormous portion of going to the playoff.

It's not that I don't get what you're saying. I'm just stating what the score is and that in my opinion, if they get to the ND game unscathed from this point: a.) I do not worry about trucking them and b.) they will be exceptionally lucky to do so with Washington and Washington St. upcoming in successive weeks.

Did anyone actually see that injury to Holder? Ugh, they only showed it once and it wasn't even totally in the frame but it was pretty nasty. I'm shocked he wasn't in an aircast Sucks to see that happen to a kid.

Oregon State might be the worst Power 5 team, what a joke if Stanford loses this. Pretty much take away Love if he's playing and this team won't move the ball at all on us.

The rest of their schedule is pretty rough - Washington State (in Pullman), Washington, and Cal. If they lose tonight but win the next three, they'd get back in the Top 25. Obviously really need them to win. Even if they win on a last second FG, it's still a win, and an ND win over a 9-2 Stanford will still look really good (they would have won 8 in a row).

Yes they do. I don't like this at all. I'm telling you guys right now, we will be left out if the committee has to chose between a 1 loss ND team or a conference champion 1 loss team. This isn't the team I want to end the season against. Pipe dream they are in the top 25 at that point.

Well that fumble was huge! I don't get why teams decide to play on Thursday and Friday's, short weaks are tough on college kids and it always seems like there's an upset.

 

Costello has been better all year when he's played I don't know why Chryst is in there he's never shown anything.

Agreed. Their offense has been averaging nearly 500 yds a game. Tonight is just an aberration mainly due to Love's absence. 1st and goal now. Come on Stanford!
