Surprised no one has talked about this but wanted to see everyone's opinions. After last year we all wanted him gone but I think his staff was very bad and we caught some bad breaks. Kizer didn't help either.
To me it seems he does great when he's got a good staff in place and doesn't micromanage. Bad seasons happen to almost every program minus Bama and Ohio State.
I am glad we were patient unlike most of us because looking at college football there are so many bad coaches. We could have someone much worse and it just isn't worth the risk.
Again I'm not crowning him but last year was his mulligan and we all said he needed 9-10 wins this year to win us over.
Someone posted a thread how he had a year like 2016 at GVSU and then after he went on his tear. Maybe he needed the humility again, because I have this feeling the program is about to become a perennial top 10.
