According to Lee Corso the top 3 one loss teams are USC, Oklahoma and Ohio State. He said these teams gained the most by the defeat of Clemson and Washington State. No mention of the Irish.

However, on the BTN I saw a commentator actually say the one loss team with the best resume is Notre Dame. Georgia continues to impress and climb to the top of the poll. Our win over Michigan State rose in immensity when they beat Michigan.

ESPN listed the top ten recruiting classes and we are not mentioned. Is there a bias at ESPN?? If so, why?? Don't they make a lot of money on us when they televise our games??

Tough call. ND has the best loss and one of the better wins, so they have to be in the top group. Clemson has the best win with Auburn and a better loss than OU. OU has the worst loss by far, but a good win. Ohio St has no good wins and a pretty bad loss given the score. USC beat Stanford, but their loss looks a bit worse now. Assuming a good win trumps a good loss, I'd say, based on resume:

Clemson

Notre Dame

USC

Oklahoma

Ohio St

With their QB, Clemson is easily the best 1 loss team. After that it's probably Oklahoma and Ohio State.

Their QB was asleep on the turf last night. They might not be a one loss team for long.

Why is everybody saying Clemson??? Did they not lose to an unranked team?? I watched the game. They were outplayed. Look how Georgia is killing people and they beat us by one point with the help of a couple calls.

Probably because their qb went out early and will be back. Do you watch the games or just read the box scores? IMO thought OSU is unfortunately the best 1 loss team.

Might be right. The BIG Tweleventeen east will take of of itself, as in the big three will all have at least one loss before it's over and the winner takes on Wisky. The way things are going there will probably be all one loss teams in the playoffs. Anything can happen in the BiG 12 so TCU isn't safe, nor UW or PSU, and Bama will have the Iron Bowl and most likely UGA to tangle with yet.

Perhaps...They get a pesky GT team at home next week, which is now a coin flip game, followed by a Bye, then on the road at NC State... If Bryant isn't back for the NC St game, they're definitely losing.

It pains me to say it, but OSU is looking very good again with Barret playing at a high level. I watched bits of the Nebraska game, and I know Nebraska sucks, but their Front 7 was dominant

Ohio states best win is against a 5-2 army team. Not sure but don’t think they have a win over any other team over .500. Their only quality game so far this year is against Oklahoma and they got their butts beat.

Of course I watch the games. I'm retired and even watch replays, do you??? :-P Clemson simply could not stop Syracuse. They are not the same team as last year. Their starting quarterback has a concussion and like Dayne Chryst, he may never be the same. The guy that took over was very athletic and looked good on the short routes but had very little accuracy on several downfield tosses. Like I've said, we lost to a Georgia team that could spank Clemson (by one point) and have a victory over Michigan State who beat Michigan.

Not hard to see why I think we have the best resume of the once defeated teams. At least one prognosticator has agreed with me.

Love all the arguments in these posts.....but screw all this hypothetical crap. Our schedule the rest of the way is tougher than anyone's. Irish keep winning and Corso and everyone else will have to deal with the fact the Irish are back and deservedly a top 5 team.

I’d like to hang out with lee & drink some beers, but sometimes he’s just off. No mention of clemson? Once their qb clicks in...

Yeah, but he's going to be out at least 1 week and Tech is a very good team. In fact, GT should be unbeaten if you look at their losses:

- fell apart late v TN, despite dominating first 3 Qtrs

- WR from the U makes juggling catch on 4th down leading to GW FG

Both losses by a single point. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they beat Clemson Sat.

It'd be a bit surprising since they don't play until next Saturday. I think Ga Tech could win that game, all depends on how well the Clemson Dline plays the option.

Notre Dame cannot pass!

We all have a loss for a reason.

That and I'm not sold on the Secondary, outside of Love and Crawford. I think ND is a pretty good team, but we have to be realize, they've played 2 teams of merit- UGA and Sparty. The Sparty win is looking impressive, no doubt, but I'd argue at least 3, if not 4 of the remaining teams on the schedule are better- SC, NC State, Stanford, and possibly Navy, we all know what a b1tch Navy can be.

I'm not trying to be pessimistic, ND can beat everyone left on their schedule, but they need to continue to improve each week if they want to be in this discussion

Yes, we have a loss for a reason. It's called biased SEC refs. The late hit by Okwara was totally a rip off and game changer. Overturning the touchdown in the end zone was a bit questionable and would also have given the game to the Irish, but earlier in the game Tranquill makes a beautiful breakup of a third down pass and was flagged for 'hand on the back'. The only problem his hand wasn't on the back as he was leaping to get to the ball on the front side of the receiver.

Wimbush has been a bit late on his reads. The game should be slowing down for him. He's had a week on the sidelines to evaluate. I expect the passing game to pick up Saturday. USC has injuries in their secondary; as many as 4 are out for the game.
