What are the chances this happens? The only other premiere game that day is Michigan at Penn State. But the following week Penn State plays Ohio State which would be a much bigger game if the rankings hold.

I know some people are anti-Gameday or anything ESPN, but it's still exciting and something I may travel to if the opportunity presents itself.

A lot probably depends on this week. Obviously a USC or Michgian loss changes things. Penn St in off as well.

Also, the Michigan/Penn St game is the Saturday night ABC game that week. Not sure how much that plays into it, but I'm sure it matters at least some.

ND needs it to get more pub nationally, They do not even get a sniff on ESPN. This will force them to feature ND (even tho they do not want to because NBC has the contract for all home games). This will also get Josh Adams in the Heisman discussion.

You would think it would be Game Day worthy but they haven't announced where they'll be for that weekend from what I can see.

This week they're covering Villanova@James Madison. Really? That's worth showing up for?

Zero ranked matchups in the FBS this week. They've been trying to one lower level game every year it seems. This is as good of week as any to do it. Where else would they go?

Sooners/Longhorns? Texas isn't ranked but it's a classic rivalry game and I would watch a 4-1 UO vs. 3-2 UT game before 'Nova and JM.

That's fair. I wouldn't be opposed to that, but I do sort of like when they try to show the lower levels as well.

You guys do realize that the gameday crew rarely has anything to do with the actual broadcast of the game right? They just goto a different location where they feel there will be a lot of energy.

But South Bend is a super fun place with great energy... oh wait...

Red River Rivalry weekend. They will be there, Texas sucks but the game has implications in the national title hunt for Oklahoma.

I think every other team in the nation would have to be playing an FCS team (And not Appalachian State) for game day to be in South Bend.

Gameday hasn't been in South Bend since the NC year, and that was a no loss ND team against a ranked Stanford team. Before that it was 2005 USC - ND. I don't see it happening with a 1 loss ND team any time soon. At least not an ND team out of the top 10.

Dang, days and weeks run together. Gotta stop huffing exhaust I guess.

I brought up the 1977 team in another thread and that got me thinking

You guys think they do something since this is the 40th anniversary of that game/team?

I never liked it when they announced the use of green jerseys, but I would LOVE it if they did it as a surprise, especially since this is the 40th anniversary of the 1977 team

Then if we lose everyone can blame a piece of clothing for our loss?

That would be awesome - I was at the Bush Push Game when they warmed up in the navy jerseys then came out in the green jerseys. Place went nuts. Still the best atmosphere I have ever experienced at ND Stadium.

Didn't BK say once upon a time that he would never bring out the green jerseys?

ND will have plenty of chances to be the GameDay game the rest of the way, but I'd rather they stay away until they absolutely have to.

With NC State, Miami, Stanford and Navy also ranked it is bound to happen eventually if ND keeps winning.

I was of the understanding that ESPN Gameday was not welcome on ND's campus. Maybe things have changed but that was something I remember hearing from an university employee a year or so ago.

Interesting. Think they would want to show off the new digs to the world

Agreed. The Miami game could be setting up as a matchup of two top ten teams in South Florida. I’m sure the Gameday folks would love to travel down there for that.

For anyone who is going to say, “Whoa, one game at a time!” I don’t care. The team and players have to take it one game at a time. As a fan I can speculate all I want!

All homerism aside, this is the funnest team to watch by far in the Kelly era in my opinion. I really think they are a legit playoff contender if they can get by USC, which I think they will.

More apt to see Game Day at a ND away game that is on ESPN or ABC.

Whoa. Hadn't heard that before. Did something happen last time Gameday was there?

That's been awhile anyway but it's not as though ND has had the best relationship with BSPN to begin with. Besides, they've lost the last four times Gameday was at any ND game. I think the last time ND won while they were on campus was in 2012.

Edit: I'm not 100% sure about the above.
