The kids took the money so yeah, they are in trouble. Basketball is ten times worse due to aau, shoe companies and the one and done rule. It's ridiculous how out of hand it is. This may be the end for the NCAA when it's all said and done and they deserve it. The FBI had to come in, it had gotten so bad. I'm hearing that Pitino, staff and Jurich are both out tomorrow. Ford had an article out today stating that they should get the death penalty. I don't disagree. But in the end, the NCAA should as well. Rotten to the effin core.

Not only does he get to enjoy that tax bill, but he also gets pinned for tax evasion.........
September 27, 20177 yr The kid who took $100,000... smh. Not only does he get to enjoy that tax bill, but he also gets pinned for tax evasion......... Money laundering, fraud, interstate fraud with minors. People are going to prison and I hope this blows the lid off of college athletics.
September 27, 20177 yr Maybe the Feds can look into the NCAA. Or UNC? Or Miami? Or any other school still waiting on sanctions.

September 27, 20177 yr The NCAA makes billions and the main product/worker gets paid zero dollars. Coaches making millions, AD's making millions, IMG/Learfield/Fox sports making millions, sponsors spending hundreds of millions, etc....Of course there is going to be corruption with that much money flowing.

I don't disagree corruption is inevitable, but I do disagree that they main employee gets paid $0. Yearly cost to attend ND is put at $67,000. I'm not suggesting they might not deserve more, but let's not pretend they get nothing. What they do with what they are given is another matter.

Athletes are given $0 directly from the revenue streams.* Better?
September 27, 20177 yr Athletes are given $0 directly from the revenue streams.* Better? This is standard in the real world. Entry level jobs suck. They prepare you for better jobs, give you some experience, and teach you how to negotiate for better benefits in the future. Most kids out of high school do not get 65k a year jobs (free college education). A lot of guys straight out of college with good degrees don't get a share of the revenue. Once you get a little further in your career you can end up somewhere where you get a piece of the pie, better benefits, perks, etc... A job is a job is a job. The only thing I can say is that the NCAA should not indenture football players. If they want to leave after their freshman (maybe sophomore) year, I say let them go. If they are ready to get out there into the real world, don't hold them back so you can profiteer off of them.

The NCAA does not require players to stay or players to go to college in any sport before going pro. NFL requires 3 years removed from HS to play in their league and NBA requires 1. They can go play CFL, bb in Europe or cross country ski for all the NCAA is concerned. So this actually furthers your point, a lot of jobs require college education to work there. So essentially, they are getting it Better than anyone with it paid for. Also, college sports are internships for some in my eyes. If you are an unpaid intern you typically, like NCAA sign agreements that any ideas or products you develop while an intern are the companies property. So if one was to develop so multi billion dollar software app or something while not being paid, that intern gets nothing. Unless they are going to change all those laws, then the NCAA/college can legally use the players to make money. They all sign these agreements. Edited September 27, 20177 yr by Jim2Dokes
