Did that just happen? We played a complete game and our opponent didn't make any halftime adjustments to break our hearts.

Gold stars:

1) The Offense

A. Particularly on offense, the whole is greater then the some of it's parts.

B. The coaching staff tried to get Brandon going early with some easy passes.

C. Chase Claypool. Should have been playing from day one of this season.

D. Deon Mcintosh. I never planned on ever seeing you play

E. The running backs. Deep as I can remember

2) The Defense

A. Jerry Tillery, Props for sticking up for Nick Coleman, In years past our big guys just looked the other way.

B. Shawn Crawford, this kid has All American skill. I wish he was an every package player.

C. Nick Watkins, I put him here because I didn't see him in the game. Were they afraid to throw his way/

Frowny Faces:

1) still no deep threat at receiver

2)ESB. stay on your feet. He's becoming Corey robinson 2.0

3) Right Tackle. A lot of work needs to be done on pass protection.

4) Wimbush and his side arm throws

this was me when he did it. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/55wFHVIax40" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

5) The announcers: was gus Johnson high? his eyes looked red and glazed over. All the on screen pop ups reminded me of porn sites in the 90's. It was too much. I know you want to get the fox sports one name out there but lets not over do it to the point it takes away from the game. And lets be honest, you're fox sports. espn is Coke and fox sports is Shasta.

I think Crawford's hustle in stripping the ball and then recovering his own fumble in the endzone was the game changer. It was emblematic of how the defense hustled throughout the game. If we can get that type of commitment and drive from Crawford and crew on defense this year, we will do pretty well.

Crawford is an all American and Nick Watkins is a very good cover corner. Watkins has pro potential with his length and cover skills.

Did we ever miss these guys last year lol.

Sorry but I'd rather listen to those guys telecast over anything with flutie. To me it's a slap in the face we have this joker in booth. I use to like him until NBC gave him a job doing ND games. I really liked Gus Johnson / Charles Davis called games.

Yeah, the guys in the booth were fine. Much better than ND's guys (Flutie).

I am in a tough spot with the team, while the offense put up points I still feel like they aren't all there and have had the pleasure of playing against some weaker opponents.

Overall I love how the D plays, think the O is close to being actually good.

Wimbush made two side-armed throws. Was part of that play design I think to keep ball low cuz if I remember right they are letting a rusher through. Need to go back and watch.

OK. Went back and found the successful play from fourth quarter on 3rd and 8 inside their own 10.

We let three guys through and throw it side armed and low to keep it from being tipped. And make sure to watch here that if McIntosh is able to get out there and block the safety this play might go 90 yards for a touchdown.

Wimbush, OL, Crawford, Tranquill, MTA, Claypool.

Frowny Faces: MSU fans lol

Haha. Love it! I'll add McIntosh. I didn't know he had that nice burst in the hole like that. He could be a player in a year.

Yeah they're at least a little better then I expected and the schedule appears a little easier. I initially had them at 8 wins but think they can take at least 1 out of Miami Stanford and usc now, maybe even 2

Just a look to the future. Ogundeji is going to be a stud. Refs robbed him of a sack late in the game but he was knocked into. He's getting big, he's fast and he has 4 years of eligibility. Just caught a glimpse of him but I think he has a bright future as does the entire defense under Elko.

Frowny Face:

Announcer. Have to get year heal in. The toe does not count.

Yeah that one puzzled me, in fairness, my only thought is that he thought maybe the heel touched out of boundswith the toe in.

Well we beat Miami last year and they were "better" than us, so why don't we do it again this year
