I am quite torn on this game honestly. Just think Dantonio will have something up his sleeve bigtime for this one. I can see him stacking the box and force Wimbush to beat them. Him and the receivers must step up in this one or I could see a similar outcome to the Georgia game. Night game, under the lights, big rivalry, Dantonio, etc. Almost a bit surprised that we are favored in this one honestly.

I don't see the NFL d-lineman on their team which is different for MSU there defense has Elko qualities to it, we have to stay out of 3rd and long they really dial it up.

Every team ND faces is going to load the box so I agree, he will.

Yes we do. Our chances of converting those are slim to none. This is the game I'd love to see a receiver step up ala Claypool or Young. Really hope they get a real chance soon. ESB needs to step up also. I like the kid, but the production hasn't been there yet from ND's #1.

Stepherson can't come back quickly enough. I know I've been harsh on our receivers. But, they just really haven't been that good so far. Not a lot of separation and numerous drops. Stepherson can help out in both departments big time. Really good receivers with good hands is exactly what Brandon Wimbush needs. Will help out immensely with his accuracy issues.

I didn't see a whole lot of push out of their DLine from the bit I watched. Also saw Western Michigan able to get to the edge on a few occasions. If ND can do that, they should win.

On offense, they didn't see to get much push either. Looks like they had a few big runs, but otherwise didn't do a whole lot. If ND's backers can fill those gaps better and tackle, they shouldn't get a whole lot going on the ground.

As an aside, where do you find those games cut like that Faith? Are they available for other teams as well?

Good to hear. Funny how their dline has taken a step back after losing McDowell and Robertson. Hopefully, this is the game we can get the passing game going. The tight ends have been playing better this year, so this is going to be big game for them also.

Off talent alone we should win by 2 touchdown.

The bye week is too early IMO to matter much and them facing two cupcakes was not enough to get them ready for what we have in the front 7 and on the oline.

This is a must win for Kelly I think.

Let's be real. Any game other than USC is a must win for Kelly this year.

San Diego St. beat Stanford. 8th year coach at ND should also.

4-8 ND beat Miami last year. If another coach can improve his team more in one year than you can, you should be gone.

Every other team are teams an 8th year ND coach should have no trouble beating.

I think it's a must win in that if he beats msu and nc it will be highly unlikely he'll be fired. My guess is 8 wins or more and he stays and I don't see him losing more then 4 if he wins those 2.

Who have they played? Western Michigan comes up with pretty good teams at times but on the video they looked slow with little talent.

Has MSU played anyone in the top 50?

ESBs production is directly related to Wimbush and the lack of any other WR contribution.

It depends on the team and their fans. Its just a youtube search including the word condensed or tight cut.

You reminded me how to freeze a clip of a youtube video, thanks for that, by putting a ? at the end of the video address &start=(number in seconds of where you want it to start &end\=(ending number in seconds) so thanks

This is a big test to see how good we are. Temple and BC look horrible this year so it's good that we were able to dominate on the ground against them, but how much of that is the opponent? We THINK Georgia is a good team with a great defense, but they haven't been tested by anyone else yet. MSU seems like the perfect middle ground. After this game we'll know who we are.

I don't think we'll see a better defense than Georgia and I think we'll be able to consistently get to 3rd and short by gaining 4-5 yards on 1st and 2nd down. That'll open up the RPO's that Chip Long is known for.

No it's not entirely. I rewatched the entire BC game Tuesday. There were 2 catchable balls in the 2nd quarter he missed. A really good receiver with good hands would have caught both. Not saying he's not a good receiver, but he didn't catch balls that were in fact catchable. There was a similar play in the 3rd quarter that he could have caught also and didn't due to the pass being a bit high. Just think he struggles with Wimbush's rockets. He's also quite skinny which I feel can be an impediment with his route running. His hands, which have been far from perfect, lack of physicality and separation are hurting him. He has not played like a #1. We need a Golden Tate, Jeff Smardjiza, Michael Floyd, Will Fuller type desperately. I realize many will disagree with me on ESB thus far, however I feel he has not played to his potential yet and hasn't performed as well as previous Irish wr1.
Heard that too. And 11 true freshman between O and D.

They have 12 freshman in the 2 deep, but only 1 starts. Also, many of these are redshirt freshman, so they have a year of college lifting/practice.

But it does suggest they don't have a ton of reliable depth, although their defensive front 7 only has 1 freshman in it. On what should be a hot night, that should play into ND's hands late in the game.
