Posted September 17, 20177 yr Defensive touchdown ties it at the half. Texas defense is impressive. USC offense not so much, of course.
September 17, 20177 yr The offensive line for USC is not very good, I think our game will be pretty low scoring.
September 17, 20177 yr The offensive line for USC is not very good, I think our game will be pretty low scoring. The thing that worries me about USC is that our defense will get worn down. Not that we can't hang with them. Just that we'll have a ton of three and outs and our thin d-line will succumb to the pounding by the running game.

It also worries me a bit if there are going to be "MMA rules" interludes for USC DBs like there were in the first half.
September 17, 20177 yr It also worries me a bit if there are going to be "MMA rules" interludes for USC DBs like there were in the first half. THAT actually worries me every game. Funny how the refs can dictate how a game will be played. This could very much happen next week vs MSU. They are known to hold our receivers every time we play them. We have a hard enough time separating. Wait till they start holding too...
September 17, 20177 yr This Texas defense looks pretty darn good. Jefferson is better than any backer I've seen and the dline for Texas is getting tons of penetration, their line is huge. Their secondary has had tight coverage all game too and they pursue very quick, they have Bama type speed at the second level. How in the hell did they lose to Maryland?

It's tough playing back to back d1 opponents. Especially when one is good. I think that's where ND has trouble some times. We do have Ohio after next week so maybe we learned something
September 17, 20177 yr Wow what a game Good game but it would have been nice to see UT shut down fUSC.
September 17, 20177 yr I want USC to lose so bad but with the new playoff format I know how much better a top 5 win looks vs a top 20 win.
September 17, 20177 yr Texas is going to be really good, really soon. Herman would have been a great hire for us.
September 17, 20177 yr That was a great game. USC looks beatable. I hate to see them win, but it will be better for ND in the long run.
September 17, 20177 yr I know this is not-picking, but a USC oss is second only to an ND win. ND makes an interception (I think Crawford?), 2-3 ND players cross onto the field, and ref throws a 15 yard flag. On that incomplete pass before USC's game winning field goal, when USC thought it was a TD catch and that they won the game, 1/2 their team went on the and no flag. Would have been a 56 yard ield goal attempt to win the game. SMH!

New S&C program seems to have them just as ready to play in 4th quarter as the first and Elko is night and day better than BVG.
