Posted September 15, 20177 yr Was taking a look at the matchups this week and they are utterly awful. With FSU/Miami being postponed, there isnt much at all worth watching. That being said, I have this weird feeling that Texas is going to upset USC. What games are you fellas most interested in besides our own?
September 15, 20177 yr I'm going to try and watch some of Louisville and Clemson. It will be nice to see how an accomplished offensive coach attacks a fast, physical defense. Should be a good game.

September 15, 20177 yr Yep that was going to be the next choice. Clemson always looks super vulnerable to me... I'm not sure they are a true title contender with the new QB, Watson was one of the generational college talents, like a Vince Young, Cam Newton type I think. But their front 7 is top 2 in the country probably. I wouldn't mind Venables roaming our sideline.

I mean, what team can let Pitt drop 42 on them and then go on to shut out OSU and then beat Bama? Mind-boggling.

I think that's just college football. You give a team a few turnovers, don't play crisp and before you know it it's the 4th quarter and your tied. Same way Alabama almost lost to Ole Miss and gave up 43 early in that year and gave up 43 and lost to Ole Miss the year before, but still won the title.
September 15, 20177 yr Author Tennessee vs Florida is the big one down here in SEC country. Go vols. Well I can assure you know one cares about either of those teams outside SEC country. The last time I cared about Tenn, Zibby was putting on a punt return clinic....
September 15, 20177 yr Well I can assure you know one cares about either of those teams outside SEC country. The last time I cared about Tenn, Zibby was putting on a punt return clinic.... Well sure, it's a regional game. Living in TN, I pull for the Vols. Not like ND though.

September 15, 20177 yr Says you're in Indianapolis.... Yep. That's where I'm from. I probably took it as 'from' rather than 'at'.
September 15, 20177 yr Games look generally crappy. I will be checking out UCLA against Memphis since UCLA has looked vulnerable, even though Memphis is just Memphis. Texas v SC is probably the only other game worth watching. Louisville showed that they are not indestructible against North Carolina but still, generally meh. Weekends like this are the reason the NCAA really need to take a hand in scheduling. Weekends like last weekend with tons of great matchups and then this.

I'll probably watch either Memphis/UCLA or Oklahoma State/Pitt early. The pickings are kind of slim around here.

September 15, 20177 yr Things don't get much better next week - only two games featuring ranked teams. I guess that's why they are doing College Gameday from Times Square. #20 TCU at #9 Oklahoma State #25 UCLA at #19 Stanford

I guess that's why they are doing College Gameday from Times Square. #20 TCU at #9 Oklahoma State #25 UCLA at #19 Stanford I like the UCLA game, supposing things don't go apey this weekend. That should be a fun game to watch. Full disclosure: I detest David Shaw and want to see Stanford lose until he goes away.
September 16, 20177 yr House full of sick people...I said watching some good football would heal us all and my older boy said the same thing..The games are terrible...Continues to say the NCAA should chime in on scheduling, not only to assure good games, but to eliminate cupcake scheduling like PSU does...LOL Edited September 16, 20177 yr by irishrb
September 16, 20177 yr We got lucky with a great week 2, actually week 1 and 2. Normally, other than ND playing msu or something first 3 weeks are bad. Conference play really starts next week when traditionally CFB takes off. Glad some teams are not scheduling d 2 schools for the first 3 weeks anymore, just 2 . My guess is week 3 will always be bad, teams want a tune up before conference play.

I got my flu shot last week. Hope it works as well as last year.
September 16, 20177 yr What part of Tennessee? Nashville area. There are some really good Irish fans down here. Sometimes I'm able to catch a game with a couple them at a BWW. Are you in TN as well?

I will peak at the USC game too. Planning on watching the the big fight tonight too.
