I think we all collectively thought that the only way we would lose games this year was because our defense could not hold up. Well..... that assumption was proven wrong tonight. The offense lost this game tonight. Special teams was mostly ok. We didn't get much in return yardage and gave up too much, but Yoon and Newsome were solid. Wimbush? Yikes. He looked scared, confused and scared.. and did I mention scared all night. The play calling for offense was confusing. I think we all agree that the shackles were on all night. Was it really, we won't beat ourselves scheme? Because our TE play was non existent, and we seemed unwilling to throw in the middle of the field or to other receivers who don't split out wide. That last play with Mike getting beat was a heart breaker. What happened to Dexter, Nic, .....etc. it's like we gave Georgia our playbook. We definitely played with hesitation and then fear later. This QB ... I have my doubts. And look... I am not going on the "the world is ending" attitude. But I have never been a fan of this type of QB and system. I want a bigger QB, a pro stlyle Offense and less plays that require more time to develope. What we saw tonight is that speed negates this offense. They were in our backfield all night. Yes they got a big push. However, our run plays take tooooooooooo long to develop. We saw that all night against a fast defense. I am saying that Wimbush worries me.

Georgia's defense (penalties) is the only thing that kept ND in the game. Fire the entire offensive staff. The play calling was awful.

Can make as many changes as you want but at the end of the day it's still a Brian Kelly led football team that completely shrivels when the lights shine brightest. Always seem to be one play short

yep total offensive fail---props though to the defense best defensive play in a long time---and Yoon who would have won the game had Wimbush and the offense been able to do anything

I'm not sure Wimbush can be an effective qb in this offense, I think Book is better at everything besides arm strength and running ability.

Don't understand us not trying to run on first down. You can bet Dexter Williams will be transferring after this year.

Georgia had a very good and experienced defense that stacked the box and Wimbush wasn`t accurate enough to force them to play straight up.

The play calling was just plain ******.

I can`t understand the reasoning of having the RB standing beside the QB and taking the hand-off standing still. In the past he would take the hand-off and hit the hole with some speed.

I expected much more out of Wimbush.

I'd say if you had to point the finger at one unit that's a fair assessment. We had some dropped balls, a lot of missed blocks, and some uber-conservative play calling, and an ineffective run game..

To keep you from over-reacting this is by far the best defense we will see all year.

I think our run defense looked vastly improved. Not so sure about our pass defense. Can't get a good guage after tonight due to the vanilla offense Georgia ran with a true frosh QB. We'll get a better sense when USC rolls into town.

Unlike Georgia, Kelly abandoned his strength-running the football to the left side behind his two best linemen- in favor of short passes and screens. Can anybody say they're surprised?

I don't want to discredit UGA, they have a solid D and showed that ND's offense is suspect. The reason ND lost today was because ND couldn't (or wouldn't) run the ball. ND couldn't run it because their OLine was moving backwards almost the whole game. Winbush couldn't stay upright because the OLine was porous.

Disagree. This is not the best defense we will see this year. Game 2. Remember?

Lol definitely not. UGa will still be a 7 or 8 win team by end of season.

Porous I am not sure about. They were either overmatched on the ends of the line or just way confused as far as I could tell. The hey weren't opening holes in the middle, but it seemed like the problem was really the outside and sadly Adams looked like a poor blocker tonight.

I don't care what kind of defense Georgia has, running the football for 55 yards total is unacceptable. Appalachian State rushed for 136 yards against Georgia's defense. So, if you're looking for context, consider that as well.

You're right, porous is probably too strong a description. I'm just pissed right now. Well the good news is that since ND is NC or bust, their season is over with now so I can go back to not caring until next year again.

Exactly. We got our scores off of turnovers/field position and penalties that moved the ball downfield. The entire offensive unit and coaching was pathetic.

Comfortably numb is better than bad. There are still good times ahead this season. I am no rainbows and butterflies person but I am still excited for football season.

I know one thing for absolute certain, St Brown is a stud.

Perfect summation of our offense tonight. I want Montana, North Carolina, Duke, NC State, Navy, and Airforce. BRING THEM ON!

They will win the east... not saying much but still..

Offensive playcalling and more so personnel decision making were sooooooo head-scratching to me. It's mind boggling to me that Dex didn't see the field on offense...Mind boggling...Adams looked so freaking slow tonight that he was driving me crazy. Why you wouldn't put your fastest to the hole back in a game like this just didn't make sense. I'm fine if you want to stick with the run...but Holy Moses, play Dex. Very unfair to him, and the team!

Whoah. I was trying to calm him down.. I've been calling for hiestands firing when we weren't giving up sacks and we're running for 130+ on people.. o line sucks and without consistent play we are in trouble.. I'm just not losing my **** when a terrible o line with a terrible coach costs us a football game against a really athletic defense

It's a no **** Sherlock moment for me
