I HAVE BEEN WATCHING JIMMY CLAUSEN PLAY FOOTBALL ON ESPN, THIS KID IS WITHOUT A DOUBT AS GOOD AS BRADY QUINN IS NOW, HE IF VERY QUICK AND VERY ACCURATE, WE REALLY GOT A qb THERE, JUST WISH HIS Rb WAS COMEING TO nd INSTEAD OF GOING TO USc this clausen can also run, i think that he thinks that he will start next season for the irish , very quick and smart. he has thrown for 3 touchdown all ready and the half isn't over.

I wouldnt go that far as to say that but he is impressive thus far(in highschool)

I'm very impressed he's lived up to the hype. His physical skills are in the same ballpark as Brady Quinn's even comparing HS Jimmy to College Brady. Now mentally is where Clausen would be way behind running Weis offense is a little more complex than some high school offense. He definitly is not a lock to start next year IMO.

He's going to EE though, so that gives him all of spring ball to get ready. I know the offense isn't as complicated, but look at what Tebow has been able to do at Florida after having a spring under his belt.

 

Although, Demetrius Jones is leading the Heisman race as a redshirt sophomore my ND dynasty ... just a thought

I think Claussen is going to be great but

 

he was 19 for 35 for 3tds 308 yds

 

last game for us Quinn was

20 for 36 5tds 300+yds

 

and many perceive that Quinn 'struggled"

i saw tebow, he has come on pretty fast, but he is no JC, this kid will EE but he needs to watch for a while we still got Jones as the leader so far

I have a feeling it will be a two man race next year Clausen and Jones.

I think the QB position will be Jones to start the season with Jimmy taking over in the middle half. Remeber that Jimmy is enrolling in January!!! So he will be playing spring ball!!!!!

Don't over look Sharpley. He will have 2 full years under Weis, plus spring ball. This year he will get some playing time which should help him a lot. I am not saying the other 3 will not be a starter, but Sharpley will have more time in the system and more time to have worked with Weis then the others.

i was really blown away with just how good JC release and accuracy is. WOW!

I was really impressed with his accuracy.....especially when he was on the run. His arm strength is unreal, and he seems to make really good decisions with his throws.

I wouldn't count Zach Frazer out, either.

He was pretty good: Now wait up I'm not a "JC hater" In saying, all I could see was some good "High School Ball." High School plays, players and officials. Back to what I once said if Weis wants him I want him and now we got him. How that goes in the spring is all guesswork.

all i have to say is that if JC came out last year he would have been ranked higher than both DD or ZF, now if DD or ZF improve in there extra time before JC gets there there is a chance they could have made up that difference, but its hard for me to think you improve that much in a short time only from watching video and reading the playbook, its not like they are getting a lot of reps

 

Sharpley has the leg up with experience, but he hasnt shown anything and sometimes i wonder if charlie just says he trusts him to ease people's concerns, i really think 1 of the 3 young guys beat out sharpley

 

JC has the best talent, he throws by far the best ball

DD has the most athleticism and can provide a different dynamic and still a very good QB and leader

ZF has a cannon for an arm, hes big and strong, and has the leadership qualities like both DD and JC

 

I think this comes down to one thing, can JC pick up charlie's play book in a few months, i get the feeling he has the book already, or a lesser version and is having his older brother and QB coach help him work through it, if JC grasps the playbook then it comes down to talent, and im not sure DD or ZF has made up for the talent difference yet, because as far as maturity and leadership i think all three of them are very similar

 

if nothing else it will be a very fun spring, i want the best kid to play thats all i care about, and any of the three young guys would make me happy, they each bring something different and i think charlie will have all of them ready to play

it's funny to think that this time last year we were all hyping ZF for heisman (myself included) and now we all have JC as our '07 starter.

I think Frazer is pretty darn good already ... and how many freshman QBs light it up right away?

 

Rudy Carpenter did it. Chris Leak was alright ... but I'm pretty sure Frazer could step in right now and be one of the better QBs out there.

No matter who wins out next year, the quarterback derby will give us all something talk, fight, and argue about the whole offseason... It will help pass the time until Sept.

no matter who the starter is next year NDs offense is probbly going to struggle due to all the new starters next year.

Uh. Yeah. I wouldn't be planning on booking a hotel to a BCS city for next season.
