It seems to be pretty straightforward---both teams are basing their offense on the run game, Georgia even more so then us.

If we can either out rush them or wash it out by rushing within 5 percent or so we likely will win the game.

Georgia has a good defense so if we are forced to abandon the run game in Kelly style and go 60/40 pass likely we lose

This game will depend on our offensive line , probably the strongest part of our team so that SHOULD be good ----

Georgia gets 260 rushing and we get 250 that will probably break the game our way....

Run the ball as good as they do and DON'T TURN IT OVER MULTIPLE TIMES and we can earn a big and surprising win.

I think you're right. I don't think We could throw it a bunch and win. We were 74 plays 44 rushes and 30 passes yesterday which equates to about 59 percent run 41 percent pass.

This game like most games will be won or lost in the trenches with running and defense. Hope maybe we can block a punt or something that'd be a real boost. Hopefully we at least break even on SPECIAL TEAMS. Much more faith in Polian to do so here. Also wining the turnover battle is important against a team with equal or better talent.

All the talk is Michel and Chubb but I will take Williams and Adams over them any day of the week. I think we have the better offensive line too, so this game is really going to come down to who's defense plays better.

The run defense was gashed pretty good here and there against Temple but there are some fresh faces in the rotation. Maybe the first week serves as something of a "tune up" game.

" josh adams will probably go down as one of the great running backs at ND and that's saying a lot"

That's from Temples head coach

Adams also got the game ball by BK---but Adams wanted it to go to the entire offensive unit.....

Chip Long is really winning me over with his offensive approach---up tempo , threaten the run to set up the pass , run adams behind the giant let side---

really positive stuff for game 1

I saw something that Easin left the game early injured. Sprained knee is the preliminary info. Fromm came in and led them on 3 td drives in first half. 10-15 for 143 and 1 td. They will try to pound it down our throats and then attack the backend.

ND has a better OL, but Chubb and Michel are a better duo.

Williams hasn't had his shot to show everyone what he's all about yet. After this game our duo will prove to be the better 1-2 punch.

Both teams will likely approach the game the same way---Run the ball and set up the pass with the run.....there are of course doubts about our front seven and how they will stand up to the Georgia backs ----I would submit that its NOT AT ALL A GIVEN that Georgia's front seven will be able to stand up to our very DIVERSE run attack....its worth remembering our RUN ATTACK is NOT a 1 2 punch---with Wimbush its a very tricky 1 2 3 punch

Appalachia state is not enough to go on in evaluating the Georgia run defense----

Both teams will find out a lot about themselves offensively and defensively in this interesting match up , Fromm is very likely the better QB (despite inexperience) so we really don't gain much if anything from that injury to eason

I think we will have a good day rushing even though Ga. has a good defense.

The Key is stopping the pass and forcing them run. The team that has the best passing game wins. IMO!

I just hope Long/Kelly are patient with the run and stick with it. I agree it's our best chance to win.

Michel is just so fast and their D is better. We will need turnovers from their true frosh QB to win which is entirely possible. Also in a game of two relatively even teams, you hate that your fg kicker is 0/2.

Agree. I think it comes down to who is the bigger presence. Wimbush or Michel/Chubb.

Could have a very Music City Bowl feel to it. I'm not sure Chubb=Fournette but Chubb&Michel=Fournette possibly

I mean we ran the heck out of it, went for it on 4th down in the 1st Quarter, stopped a fake FG(unless you ask an LSU fan)

So we might need a break or two or they could just play bad.

I think your all putting Georgia on a pedestal, they were a very average football team last season. We had a much better showing vs arguably a better opponent.

I don't know if it's cause their from the SEC or if everyone thinks these runningbacks are the best thing since sliced bread.

News flash! Our backs are better and the nation will see next Saturday. Don't be surprised when we handle these guys next week.

Yep, which is another way of saying this - our offensive line is better than theirs. Will the advantage be enough to more than counter the fact that their defensive line is better than ours?

Georgia is scary talented, but you're right. They're the *gasp* notre dame of the SEC; perennial underachievers.

that'd be awesome. We beat LSU, I think its Possible we beat Georgia. Gotta keep playing relatively mistake/ penalty free, hard, and fast and let the chips fall where they may.

Very avg, for quite some time. We've been cutting our teeth on the SEC with LSU & I don't see this Georgia team being all that different.

My only concern is the amount of time BW spent on his arse by Temple. A rougher defense could get into his head.

I think too much is being made of Wimbush and the hits he took. I agree he's not that big and will likely not withstand a lot of big hits throughout the season. However, after re-watching the game, the hits he took in passing game were not bad at all. He was sacked 2 times, both ankle tackles. He got shoved to the ground a few times, but not from hard hits and he was not driven to the ground. He did get that one slight hand to the head which was technically a penalty but not vicious by any means. He got hit most while running, and even those were blows that spun him, not hard hits with the defender driving him to the ground. Yes, we want him to avoid those, and I suspect he will in the future.
