Posted September 3, 20177 yr At least 3 teams in front lost/will lose and they had one of the better wins. I'd guess they come in between 18-22 in the AP Poll this week. Will make for a nice ranking matchup with Georgia.
September 3, 20177 yr I mean a lot of ranked teams had no biz being ranked or as high as they were. Texas was horrible last year but ranked simpy cuz a new coach brought high hopes.
September 5, 20177 yr I don't want any higher ranking than #25 this week All we need is to get slapped around by Georgia and have people saying, see they didn't deserve to be ranked Win this game and then give me a high 20

Watch all of the college football shows. Which teams get talked about? The ranked ones. Who watches those shows? Recruits. That isn't the sole reason they attend a school, or maybe even top 5, but it is never a bad thing to have your school talked about during the season. The more the better. If ND beats Georgia, they are going to be in the top 15, maybe top 12.
September 5, 20177 yr Rankings of teams before they play a single game is stupid and is done just to give fans something to jaw about. Other than conceding Alabama as a consensus No. 1, no ranking should be posted until the calendar turns to October. Then you have a small sample as to what teams should be in the Top 25!
September 5, 20177 yr ND should most definitely be ranked. Probably about 22. This is going to be an interesting season, especially if we beat Georgia.

I wouldn't give it any kind of meaning unless there is a blowout one way or another. Miami, on the other hand... I think that's going to be a difficult game that means a lot more.

September 5, 20177 yr How about #24? http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2731491-ap-college-football-poll-2017-complete-week-2-rankings-released Shocking, shocking I say, to see only one (only 1!) SEC team in the top 10. That's like seeing a Yeti.
September 5, 20177 yr #25 in the coaches poll. https://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/rankings A win over #15 UGA would probably get ND into the mid/lower teens at least. Edited September 5, 20177 yr by Irish_Convert
September 5, 20177 yr ND should most definitely be ranked. Probably about 22. why? what has ND done to prove they are worthy of a top 25 ranking? yes ND played well and yes they look much better than last year but lets what to see what ND does in the next few games. to many times people are quick to put ND in the rankings only for them to fall out in a few weeks.

It's a one week snapshot. Last year doesn't matter. This week doesn't matter. You don't think ND looked like one of the 25 best teams in the nation last week?

Most of these teams are not great. You could throw a blanket over the teams from 20-35 and call it a day. Being 'ranked' is nice to see your team come up on the Top 25 but the good teams are in the top 15. ND wins this week and they could go 5-0 and then be way over ranked.
September 5, 20177 yr It's a one week snapshot. Last year doesn't matter. This week doesn't matter. You don't think ND looked like one of the 25 best teams in the nation last week? I thought they played well and I get the one week snapshot argument. it's just years of mediocre football has me thinking lets just wait to see where they are at the end of September.
September 6, 20177 yr How about #24? http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2731491-ap-college-football-poll-2017-complete-week-2-rankings-released I know it doesn't matter and we'll climb when we beat Georgia but 20-23 have no business being ahead of us.

They thumped a decent team and they received a bunch of votes prior to the game.

Also left points on the table. Temple isn't App St or UTEP as Georgia and OU beat respectively. What has FSU done to be in the top 25? Got blown out and lost their starting qb for the year. Or how about USC's nail biting victory over Fleckless Western Michigan? You really need to rewatch the Temple game and give them a bit more respect as an opponent to say we shouldn't be ranked. We dominated them, and they aren't that bad man.
September 6, 20177 yr Or how about USC's nail biting victory over Fleckless Western Michigan? It makes me wonder if Fleck was still the coach at WM, if he would of beaten SC.
September 6, 20177 yr It makes me wonder if Fleck was still the coach at WM, if he would of beaten SC.I wanted him after last year prior to getting Elko and Polian. Have you heard him talk? Astounding motivator and public speaker. Minnesota got a good one.
