GreensboroGoldenDomer 0
If you love ND like we do it's a beautiful locker room. But if you've seen these updated Locker rooms around the country it makes ours look like its from 50 years ago.

Idk if I would go that far, but I do think they are trying to keep the tradition there as well. I don't think the intent was to make it look like an Alabama's or something. It represents ND well imo

It represents ND well imo Yeah I agree, i thought they did a great job molding the past with some sweet present day upgrades. It was never going to be Texas's new room and they didn't want that

To me the more important, and player friendly locker room is in the Gug.

We can't rely on the Catholic recruiting pipe like back in the horse-n-buggy days.

Coincidence, I think not.

Think that was intended to keep the roots of the stadium tied back to the guy who made it happen -- Knute Rockne! Tradition means something at ND, and the locker room, albeit updated, reflects that. I like it! If that keeps a recruit away, so be it. He doesn't get it.
Irish Chris 79
If you love ND like we do it's a beautiful locker room. But if you've seen these updated Locker rooms around the country it makes ours look like its from 50 years ago. My first thoughts exactly, and I would love for someone to change my mind. Is it beautiful? absolutely. It's gorgeous!. It would be outstanding for a Vegas Country Club, or a Spearmint Rhino. Nothing about it screams kickass college football locker room to me. I'm sure the low lighting in the promo video was to help stir thoughts of glory days of yesteryear, but can we please get some light in these catacombs to jack some kids to play some football. Thank God they didn't break out a smoke machine. EDIT: they did.. We decided to go modern when we updated the stadium and added the giant screen and signed the contract with Under Armour, so why go with a locker room designed by people that don't design locker rooms? Total guess on that last one, but the school is still responsible for all final decisions on the look of the locker room. I want a locker room for savage beasts, not power attorneys and industry moguls.

How many 50 inch tv's do we need to expect the 5 stars to come here? Maybe if the Catholic PARENTS taught their children well and didn't have the $$$$ signs in their eyes, maybe we would still have a "leg up" again. BTW, I may turn Amish, LOVE the horsey's and buggies!
Kellyisit 0
Keep in mind this is just the gameday locker room. They are redoing the Gug soon which is where the players spend almost all of their time. That will hopefully be the facility with cutting edge amenities that appeal to 18-21 year olds. I think the stadium locker room is meant to give off an all business vibe which it does well.
Irish_Convert 1
I don't think it looks bad, there are plenty of wood elements that help it look welcoming and the hanging lights have a classic look to them. I am not really a fan of those lime green chairs though, I don't know what the thought process was there. I don't think every single TV needs an image of Knute but since he was key to the original stadium and this season is the "grand reopening", I can see giving him a nod. I'm sure there will be different content rotated through as time goes by.

EddieAngel 602
BTW, I may turn Amish, LOVE the horsey's and buggies! I have considered that but my sense of smell is too good. I couldn't take a back east summer surrounded by people covered in ankle length black wool and no deodorant. Hard pass.
The eND 0
I had always read that Knute Rockne was always trying to find an edge and the next new thing. He revolutionized the forward pass, right? He wasn't a a guy rooted in the same old ways. All these changes are part of life. Notre Dame has to compete and there are many levels to compete on these days. We are old fudddy duddy old men who shake sticks at clouds. kids love these types of things.
