jimbo
This year's CB recruiting currently does not look very promising. If this trend continues and we come up empty on all our top targets, do you think the coaching staff will: A. Take lower rated prospects just to have some warm bodies in this class? B. Write off this year's CB class and prioritize CB recruiting in the 2019 class? They could then use these available slots in this year's class on higher rated players at other positions. The staff is prioritizing Donte Burton and I expect them to land him. They also already have offers out to Tariq Bracy, Joe Wilkins Jr., and of course Donald Johnson. I don't see them writing this class off or taking who they feel are lower rated prospects necessarily. They are also still in the mix with Kyler Gordon, who would be a nice pickup to pair with Burton.
PJacksonsDred15
I dont think we have gotten a CB commit that actually signed for close to two years now. Unreal.

Well you have to take into account BVG's scheme of dropping DL into coverage. Therefore do you really need corners?

They missed in 2017. That's pretty all there is to it.
jbrown_9999
Was Telly Plummer ever a serious prospect for the Irish? http://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/college/louisville/2017/07/28/fairburn-ga-db-ath-telly-plummer-commits-louisville-over-notre-dame/520363001/

Big23Head
I think CB recruiting can come around this year. Burton is interesting because he was back and forth about committing if you read his actual comments. Him taking visits is ok I think. Kyler Gordon is a really nice CB prospect that ND can land. A decent season will bring others attention. Our CBs should be really solid. Telly Plummer had the perfect storm visit to Louisville. He and his family loved it. Mitchell, Wilkins and Bracy are all interesting. Haven't played the position much if at all really. They are great athletes and mitchell was injured last year. Seeing how their senior seasons progress will be interesting. I like the potential. I also like the football states these kids are from, CA, GA, and FL Edited July 29, 2017 by Big23Head

Some position flexibility with the last two as well.

He has 11 Int's in 28 games playing good competition by national standards.
