LasVegasIrish 0
I just wrote about him earlier. Solid get for the Irish to pair with Stepp. Edited July 23, 2017 by LasVegasIrish

corysold 0
I'm never sure about how accurate the offer lists are, but USC, Wisconsisn and two SEC schools is ok with me.
NDCrusader 0
For all the star-chasers... Smith is currently the #17 RB on Rivals. When they expand their 4 stars over the next two updates they will eventually settle in at 22-24 RB's. So if you look at it that way (barring injury), him becoming a 4 star is just a formality. Personally, I'm surprised he isn't a consensus 4 star already. Put up 2000+, 40+ last season playing in the 6th highest class of 8 in North Carolina. He's playing against good level talent on a 12-2 team. <iframe class="twofourseven-embed" style="max-width: 100%" frameborder="0" width="600" height="200" src="http://www.scout.com/PlayerSport/Jahmir-Smith-at-Lee-County-196133/Embed"></iframe><script async src="https://assets.247sports.com/Scripts/SkyNet/Shared/embed.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Jersey Irish 207
Only 3 stars, some people are not going to be happy.... Sciots say said he may be a 4-star as next season progresses, ranked as 17th best RB. Runs with a bowling ball mentality bouncing off people and pout of the pack and has some decent seed. Runs with a bowling ball mentality bouncing off people and pout of the pack and has some decent seed. Was being sarcastic to the few here who only care about stars. Haven't followed closely the last few years because it's such a crap shoot. A quarter of the class leaves and another quarter of the class never sees the field. I myself could care less about stars but know we need our share of 4/5 stars. I rarely see a tape that doesn't impress me, including two stars and unranked guys. Some kids don't fully grow or hit their peak until grade 12, add in the amount of divisions and all these kids are basically unknowns to me. I;m glad I don't follow recruiting much anymore, I'll pay attention to these guys once they sign and show up on Saturdays.

I will continue to use the composite 247 rankings because it gives the industry average ranking. Scouts platform was just switched to CBS which is the same as 247, many nice improvements. Also, Kevin Sinclair is the recruiting analyst for ND now on Scout. He is very good so they've gotten a boost there.

Sinclair has really improved scout but I don't think we need a default rankings site
Big23Head 2,499
Commitment Impact: Jahmir Smith Notre Dame secured a huge commitment from running back Jahmir Smith on Sunday afternoon. Rated: He is a three-star prospect, 19th-ranked running back in the South and No. 46 in the country. Scouting report: There is a lot to like about Smith. He is a patient runner with great vision and quickness. Smith anticipates well and does nice job following his blocks. He is a physical, strong running back. Smith is decisive and aggressive. He has good feet and runs with great balance. Smith is most effective running downhill, but can also bounce the play outside when needed. Smith does a nice job running behind his pads and is very tough to tackle. Like all players, there are areas where he can improve. Smith needs to continue to work on his breakaway speed and become a better blocker. However, neither is a major concern. He will improve in both areas in the next year and get even better when he gets to South Bend. Final thought: Smith is a great addition to Notre Dame's recruiting class. Although he is a great football player, Smith is just as impressive off the field. He is one of the top students in his high school's class and a high-character kid. Smith will represent Notre Dame well on and off the field. As a player, Smith will be tough to keep off the field once he gets to South Bend. He is physically ready to play at the collegiate level and has a great work ethic, so he should push for immediate playing time.

echo88 74
A grade of B for solid pickup with decent offer list. Upgraded to grade of A- for Bama RB hair. I believe there is some magic behind dreads with a rubber band tie.
LasVegasIrish 0
This is kinda kid I would expect to have more offers in a few months. Clemson has been talking to him. Wouldn't be shocked to see the whole ACC and a few more SEC schools offer eventually. And Like Crusader said, based on what number RB he is currently, if he stays around the same by signing day, should be a 4-star based on normal standards. coltssb 1,125
I was hoping When Autry got here he would find a guy in his same mode. I can't remember having a guy like him since he left. Patient, good wiggle, breaks arm tackles and makes guys miss. Since BKs got here, it's been breakaway speed with guys falling with the first arm tackle that hits them. Wood at some wiggle but was pretty weak too. Go back and watch Denison run. THats what we need. Sometimes our o-line blocks well and our guys miss read or aren't patient. Does Smith fit that mold? His description of his style seems to. Let's all hope.
