jumpman5678
A poster from another board has said that he's heard from a reliable source that the team has a crazy amount of injuries right now. More along the lines of November type injuries in July. He usually has a pretty good track record and wouldn't make something like this up. Has anyone heard anything? You would think if they're serious injuries, the word would have gotten out.
FaithInIrish Forever
Well. Kelly doesn't have to talk to the media until Fall Practice opens. So its plausible. That said, he's doesn't really hide much normally.

JTennant
Hmm I wonder if it's an S&C issue.. They made a big to-do about how much bigger some of the guys are getting. It makes it easier to blow something up when you put on a lot of mass.

Unable to get a push to the QB because the d-linemen aren't strong enough because Longo had a crappy program. Getting beat in the 4th quarter because the team wilted because Longo had a crappy program. So get rid of Longo!!! Bring in a new S&C coach. Now our players are too prone to injury because the strength program has made them too strong or gave them too much mass. JTennant - I'm not directing this to you in particular. Your inquisitive just provided the ideal forum. It just seems as if no matter what the program does, it's not right. I'm sure someone will blame Kelly and use it as another reason he should be gone. Didn't this happen when Longo first came in? We saw huge gains and our boys were much stronger, but we had an unusual number of injuries, namely leg injuries. Most notable was Kyle Rudolph's hamstring completely tearing away from the bone Whatever happened to Longo's program? I remember it was touted the first four years (2010-2013)...I remember people were in awe of the gains our players were making and the fact that they were stronger and better conditioned than our opposition which lead to a us being a second half team His program shouldn't have changed much. Was it the players growing complacent? Do you have to change up your program every 5 years or so? I just don't get how Longo's reputation went from savior to bum

No offense taken. (IMO) The ineffective run blocking was more of a problem with teaching scheme.. see the games where we were heavy dose of pin/pull zone blocking versus inside/outside zone where guys are missing assignments. I will say the last few years longo has looked like a zombie from the walking dead. I doubt he could demand much from the team

I love the fact that the mention of an unconfirmed rumor of injuries has caused folks in this thread to pontificate on the possible cause(s) of these unconfirmed injuries. You love the fact that on a message board where information is usually broken here before made public through media sources we like to discuss what if's? Welcome, we're glad you could join us.
