davislove
I have gotten a local sauce for years but it's no longer available. As Memorial Day approaches I'm looking to see what you clowns like. If you would please list something national that can be purchased at most stores. I like mine like i like my women, a little spicey.

jessemoore97
I like Sweet Baby Ray's and Cookie's on occasion. Sad I know. Probably not what you were looking for as far as a little spice. Guess I've probably never had really good BBQ before.
davislove
Sweet Baby Ray's sweet and spicy is fantastic. http://sweetbabyrays.com/Sauces/Barbecue-Sauces/Sweet-n-Spicy-Barbecue-Sauce I'm gonna give it a shot. I guess i judge books by its cover because i overlooked that brand because the label didn't pop out at me.

Irish_Convert
I'm not the biggest fan of store brands but Kroger has one called Private Selection. I've tried both the Carolina and Kansas City sauces but I really like the Carolina style. I'll put it on dang near anything from hot dogs to steaks. http://www.privateselection.com/artisan-products/spreads-condiments-dressings/bbq-sauces/
tdnd81
Start with sweet baby rays as a base. Add melted unsalted butter, minced garlic, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Italian dressing, balsamic dressing, trappeys sauce, franks red hot, light amount of lemon juice, diced red onion. Johhnys seasoning salt, black pepper. I wish I could give amounts. I use this sauce for my chicken thighs. I start with 32oz of sweet baby. Worcestershire is key and butter about a half stick and about 2 oz of Worcestershire. Hot sauce is how hot you want it. Oh I add sweet chili sauce like carevelle (for chicken)
foreverirish34
1st.Fry up 2 strips of bacon, take bacon out, eat bacon 2nd. one whole white onion minced with three cloves of garlic cooked in the bacon grease. 3rd. 2 cups of ketchup 4. 1/4 cup of moleasses 5. 1/4 white wine vinegar 6. 2 cups of brown sugar 7 . cumin, dry mustard, paprika, kosher salt and pepper to taste. 8. half can of coke. 9. let simmer for one hour. you can also put in food processor when done if you don't want chunks of onion. This sauce is sweet and smokey. Works great on chicken and ribs. I have other sauces for pulled pork and beef.
Synoptico
Completely depends on the meat 1. ribs- no sauce, only rub 2. Pulled Port - NC Vinegar Based sauce 3. Brisket - Local BBQ Joint's sauce, I dont smoke my own. Also, I don't often agree with Echo88, but he is right... make your own.

Not much of a cook myself, but any recipe that begins with eating bacon is a good recipe.

VCDomer
My all time favorite off the shelf brand is MO's. I think you can order it online at Amazon but it's available along the coast out here. Dynamite stuff.
