The eND 0
If this kid gets taken in second round, IMO, it was a waste for him to leave early unless he felt he had to get out of ND cuz it was so awful under BK.

AtLeastMySisWasIrish 0
I have a connection to Ronnie Stanley, who described for me what Kelly, Swarbrick and staff prepared for him to show why it was the correct business decision for him to return for another year. He DIRECTLY cited that presentation, combined with his appreciation for the school etc, as the single driving factor for him to return. He said Kelly is a tough coach but understands the realities these kids face with staying vs going. I have no reason to believe Kizer did not go through the same process and made the decision to go based on business. A GM was recently quoted as saying he felt Kizer is driven by the $ sign so despite Kelly doing what he could to keep him in South Bend, naming him a Captain, stressing the need for more playing time, purge the 4-8 from his final record... Kizer saw his NFL provided evaluation and took the money route. He, his family and whoever is in his inner circle are directly responsible for where he gets selected. On a side note, the fact he's in Philly with Kizer and his family, would to me suggest they enjoy a professional relationship if not more. Wish the kid the best, think it great for ND to get the publicity and hope he enjoys a prolific career regardless of where and to who he goes. Maybe, but how many QB's who stay and assume they'll go even higher the next year, end up falling due to over exposure? It seems to have to go when the amount of hype is high, but before you have too much tape out there to scouts to analyze.

Well after 4-8 and a less than 59% completion rating, one would have to believe there was nowhere to go but up. Kizer shouldn't have to worry about too much tape for there to be analyzed since he's spent much of his career being benched for inexplicable reasons. PJacksonsDred15 121
My guess is that he didn't want to have to play for Brian Kelly another year. He was regressing and clearly frustrated. Probably viewed it as a waste of a year.
ndomer4 532
Looking at next season there is no way he goes ahead of Rosen, Darnold or the Wyoming guy. This was a weak qb class that he could have capitalized on but he has some serious accuracy problems that showed up on tape and were magnified throughout the whole process. The eND 0
Just always felt last year that Kizer didn't completely adjust well with loss of Fuller at WR. I think they leaned on him heavily in a lot of spots and he always felt he had to hit a HR on every play. Plus the running game was very average and didn't help out much. Also not Kizer's fault he had to throw 4573 times in a hurricane.

Probably viewed it as a waste of a year. I concur. He felt like he would be spinning his wheels under a new OC/system, saw the Wimbush writing on the wall and thought he should get out while the getting is good after a decent season statistic wise. JMO. W&Ls likely drop him out of the first round, obviously. He does have the talent to succeed if he is properly coached.

The accuracy issues are what I was afraid of the most. I remember noticing it at the end of the 2015 season and you could see it throughout 2016 as well. However, I still think he'll get picked in the first round. I was watching ESPN today and Arizona had a lot of great things to say about Kizer, so we'll see. This Rosen guy gets hyped up all the time, maybe for good reason. But I haven't seen anything that shows me he is better than Kizer or even Golson. The national media always seemed to think higher of kizer then alot of the fans who studied him more. His size, backstory and school made him a media darling. Next year there would a new "IT" player, and they'd be picking kizer apart. When the cashier gives you too much change back, you head for the door as quick as possible.
