Big and interesting changes.

This would hurt Stanford because a lot of their targets won't know that they have the grades until January. So a recruit would have to be very confident that they would pass Stanford's admissions. If they don't then a spot might fill up for their other options. then they are stuck with a school that they don't want to go to.

"Limiting schools to signing 25 players per year, ending the practice of oversigning"

Current limit is 28 Letters of Intent per year.

This will slightly hurt SEC and other schools that recruit academically questionable prospects. No longer can a school sign up to three extra recruits expecting that some will not be able to enroll due to missing NCAA academic standards (or running afoul of the law).

I disagree...guys who know and want to be there will sign. Guys who don't know yet will simply wait like they usually do until the Feb signing day. I don't think spots will fill up any quicker than usual. Fans and coaches will simply have less stress knowing certain guys won't be leaving the class.

The stress reduction alone is worth it.

I started a post about two years ago talking about certain rule changes that I heard on the radio that would benefit ND. The only problem is I caught the tale end of the convo. But I remember the hosts were saying how much this would benefit ND if these rules do come into effect. Now, I remember this is what they were talking about.

Also to note, from the little I remember, you can't hire a kid's relative until two years into the program. That would be huge price to pay for some of these schools that already practice these rules. Just good news to me all the way around.

I agree with Sampson on this. ND getting kids to visit early would be huge in building the relationship and could help ND.
