Frankus 210
If we feed him this year I honestly think he could be a candidate... and discuss A Notre Dame player hasn't won a Heisman in 30 years. Thinking that an ND player coming off a 4-8 season with the same coach strikes me as delusional.
FaithInIrish Forever 5,568
[ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99Nbvh_GlV0[/ame] I'll play. I think he could go 1000+ pretty easily. I don't think he gets the carries for a Heisman. To be a national type guy he did 1500-1800 yards or more. Warning language is rough on the highlight video. Did not make it. irishrb 0
Should have a decent year....Nowhere near Heisman though. I fully expect Dex to split carries with him and look just as good, if not better than Adams this year.
ndomer4 532
If anyone is in the Heisman discussion it will be Wimbush. Not sure why Adams is still wearing his knee brace, looks like it's slowing him down a bit and the injury was like 3 years ago now. I see Williams getting his fair share so I don't see it but he will ball out this year.
LasVegasIrish 0
Can't see it because of Williams. He's very talented tho. Agree on the Wimbush comment tho. He will be a darkhorse assuming ND is good.
hawaiiirish 62
Delusional is a bit harsh in my view.. If we have a player that takes a huge step up and becomes a dominating player in some games I could see Adams as a great candidate for that. He has shown some real flashes of both power and speed and has that odd flashy straight up style that's very eye catching. If Josh stays healthy, real chance he has the stuff to become a STAR in 2017! aloha
Incurorish 0
Biggest problem I see is the fact Kelly forces this team to throw in situations that would help Adams get the numbers he needs to be in the conversation. Faith is right; he needs to be 1500-1800 to be a national guy.

Has Kelly even had a 1,000 yard rusher in his 7 years? Does anybody expect us to win a NC? I hope the kid has a good year, but I stand by my statement. This kind of optimism (better than delusional right lol) happens every spring. Sorry to be the voice of realism, but the facts are staggeringly against Adams. cavic 2
ND went 2-7 in 1963 and John Huarte won the Heisman in 1964. 1964 was Ara's first season as head coach.
echo88 74
I watched the NC State hurricane game with Josh's dad. He sure as hell wasn't confident BK would ever give his son the carries...

Josh could have 50 yds and a td on our first possession, next time we get the ball dexter is in. Running backs dont get the chance to dominate here. Best thing for adams to do is have a good ypc and head to the nfl.
hawaiiirish 62
I get that argument , but we are "suppose to" have a new OC a new play caller and a bit of an overhaul to our offensive philosophy that we have all come to know and "love" So one CLEAR way to tweak this offense would be with a stronger emphasis on the run game--- a successful run game not a run game where we offer carries simply to balance out the throws..... Feeding a hot back--- letting the stronger back get most of the carries--run behind a stronger push from the OLINE..... That would all be newish for BKs offense without totally revamping it.... Change is possible if not likely aloha
tneun89 1,118
Probably not a Heisman candidate next year, but hopefully a captain.

When somebody's not running the right route, WE ARE.
When somebody's not blocking, WE ARE.

WE ARE the FIGHTING IRISH? pic.twitter.com/KIQWzzsIzo
— Notre Dame Football (@NDFootball) April 2, 2017
WeaverIrish 28
Its funny, just today I was thinking if he takes a step up, he will be a good consistent RB, doubt he can be Heisman caliber.

coltssb 1,121
Look at what Mccafrey did in college compared to Adams. It doesn't even look close. I'm not sure on Adams hands consistently and his woes with the injury bug. If people remember, he got worn down in both his years so far. Just don't see it happening. Well, since the OP didn't say Adams would win the Heisman, your facts are, to be blunt, bunk. He said he thought he could be a candidate if he gets the ball enough. So the question is, is Adams good enough that he could be one of the best backs in the country if given the chance. It wasn't another, "How is Frankus going to tell us ND football was way better back when his Grandpappy played" thread, but you went that route anyway.
