Irish Chris
http://notredame.247sports.com/Article/Players-improving-under-Notre-Dames-Matt-Balis-51686326 I love to read articles like this, but it pisses me off to think about what we've been putting up with from our assistant coaches for so long. How can I know by watching school videos about the intensity of an Alabama workout program or any other major college football program, yet Notre Dame felt they were just fine all these years? “These eight weeks have been, you know, like our first workout at the beginning of the year was harder than any workout we went through during my first three years here." That's ridiculous. Thank the Lord changes were made.

I remember a few years ago andrew hendrix posted a side by side picture of him at nd and him at miami. He was ripped at miami.
FaithInIrish Forever
Amen Chris. These guys need to believe they are in the best shape of their lives http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/profiles/zack-martin?id=2543480 Zach Martin did 29 reps at 225 at the Combine Mike McGlinchey is up to I think 24. He was at what 16 they said.
Domer Dude
Amen Chris. He was at what 16 they said. At 5' 11" 163 lbs I could do 16 reps. Balis seems like the real deal. I think the staff went soft on the players trying to prevent defections when the players needed a slap upside the head. Balis is just the ticket. A HC who's checked out from the program and not evaluating all aspects and what is + or -. No accountability, responsibility, or reliability from the HC down. But hey BK has seen the light....uh huh. ndomer4
Finally got a good workout/juice program hahaha. Finally keeping up with the Ohio State and Alabama's of the world. You could really see a difference in the bodies of the OSU guys vs our guys in the Fiesta Bowl.

Irish_Convert
And depressing. Wtf have we been doing for the past decade? Burning out with a third of the season left...? Start strong, finish weak, it's almost become a Notre Dame football tradition. Hopefully that changes now with some coaching adjustments. You can tell we don't have enough guys on the sauce but that has changed obviously. I'm worried about how small coneys legs are. The guy looks like a bodybuilder with twig legs, I just hope he can still run.
jessemoore97
I hate to be this guy, but seeing all these dramatic before and after pictures in such a short window has me thinking one thing.... roids Not necessarily. I'm not saying that we don't have current or former players who used gear. A three month transformation in a good program with hard work, nutrition, and rest can yield great results in people who are in their near physical prime. In Feb/March my frost year of college I weighed in at 210 for HWT class at conference wrestling. Probably was 215ish after May finals. Walked into summer FB camp 245, from pretty much all muscle gain. Not a drop of juice in me, and this was also before creatine exploded on the market a couple years later. It can be done. Handsome Jack
Kelly didn't want to get rid of Longo. Swarbrick did. Kelly didn't want to get rid of Vangordet. Swarbrick did. Swarbrick is running the football program now. Kelly is merely the day to day operations supervisor.
