Jersey Irish 207
Looks like the second coming of The Rocket to me! He's already wearing #25. That's an omen! He's an outstanding player, no doubt.

He's an outstanding player, no doubt. No offense, but not once in his highlight reel did he look like Rocket's speed. Please Youtube Rocket's highlights. He was incredibly fast! Not saying this kid isn't fast but Rocket was legit 4.3 and below. He had a gear not many had or have.

He's already getting faster in track. He's not done yet. Fuller ran a faster 40 than rocket. Atkinson ran a faster 60 in track than rocket. Players are getting faster than before. Evolution. He'll be a high 4.3 guy by the time he's in college.

dangeruss 6
good pick up for ND. hopefully he can be another will fuller type and force defenses not to crowd the LOS.
mtl_irish03 0
He's faster than Fuller was in high school. All a matter of how he develops. And I still haven't seen a DB be able to straight up run with Fuller. He's made track guys look stupid. Speed with pads on is all that matters. Irish_Convert 1
I personally believe that 40 times are somewhat overrated. In football, short area quickness, the ability to gain separation(Or stick with a receiver for a DB) is just as important as deep speed and speed alone doesn't mean diddly if a guy can't catch the ball. Fuller had both quickness and deep speed but he was a body catcher who could be maddeningly inconsistent at times. Another overlooked aspect is physique. Players that are shorter with shorter legs generally have more efficient fast twitch muscles in their legs than taller, longer legged players. The latter are often referred to as "gazelles" because they're long striders. Also, track speed doesn't always translate to football speed. Regardless, let the young man put the pads on at the next level before jumping to any conclusions.
tdnd81 2
Wow !! this just shows how little I follow recruiting these days ! Braden plays at my high school's rival Tigard high. Pretty cool to have another local kid commit, the only other local I can think of is Ethan Johnson. Looking at his offer list is funny, it is mostly PAC 12 then BAM ND !! I hope he stays with the Irish

golson5 221
I looked up some numbers. Rocket ran a 10.34 100m Atkinson 10.36. Rocket ran the 55m and atkinson did the 60m if you equate the time to 60m it's pretty similar with rocket with a small edge. Rocket time in the 40 is .05 better than fuller but I'm not sure Rockets time was electronic at the combine back then or hand time which is a huge difference. Lenzy track times will be coming up as a junior in high school. He already ran a 40 in 4.47 as a junior so we'll see what he does
Rockets Revenge 0
Rocket ran a 4.18 in full pads at fall practice before his freshman year. No one else that has ever played for ND can approach his speed.

golson5 221
That is some Al Bundy type $hit !! That was hand timed for sure !! Exactly! I remember at the combine the hand time for Taylor mays was 4.24. Then when they got the real time it was 4.44. No way ND had an electronically timed 40 yard dash 30 years ago

Supposedly, his fastest electronic time was 4.28 which he did it a couple of times.
