Jersey Irish 207
According to ESPN's "way to early" look at games the first weekend of the 2017 season, they say this about ND vs Temple: "The Owls have a new head coach in former Florida defensive coordinator Geoff Collins and have won 10 games each of the past two seasons. If you're looking for an early upset, this might be your game. Temple won't be intimidated coming into Notre Dame Stadium, and the pressure is squarely on Brian Kelly to have a big season in 2017 or there won't be a 2018 season for him in South Bend." ColinKSU 18
Sounds right. If Rhule were still at Temple, it'd be as close to a lock as you can get that Temple would win. Without Rhule, it still is absolutely possible.

ColinKSU 18
Close to a lock? I think that is a little farfetched... They barely beat them the last time they played, they're coming off of a 4-8 season with no momentum, starting a new QB, coached by a head coach on the hot seat and breaking in an all-new staff on both sides of the ball. Why would it not be close to a lock? Since when does "but we're Notre Dame and they're Temple" mean anything? There's literally nothing about Notre Dame football right now that should make anyone assume they're going to be able to just roll it out there and beat anyone on the 2017 schedule. echo88 74
Close to a lock? I think that is a little farfetched... Oh I couldn't definitely see a L for game 1... In fact, I could see a 1-3 start...
PJacksonsDred15 121
We fired BVG a year too late...and now we will fire Kelly a year too late. I know Temple is ok but if they lose at home Week 1 BK better be gone
davislove 0
The BK on the hot seat has started by the national media. Not good for our 2018 class.
echo88 74
The BK on the hot seat has started by the national media. Not good for our 2018 class. It wasn't started by the media. It was reported on, based on the results seen on the field and the ridiculous circus act of the AD and the BoT. Wouldnt be news if they'd just fired him like they should have done mid season. Jim2Dokes 3
More lies from the BIASED mainstream media. Very bad! Haha yep. BK is the best coach ever he built many successful teams, the media is out to get him. In fact, he stated that he only went 4-8 because other teams had so many illegal players on the field. Easy there....One is a self-promoting, boastful, rhetoric-spewing idiot and the other is POTUS..... And the evil little troll also gets 7x the salary of the President.... Close to a lock to win is way too far a statement for me when Notre Dame is playing at home against a program like Temple. Can they lose? Yes. Would it be crazy? No. But close to to a lock? That's a crazy statement imo Edited January 25, 2017 by LasVegasIrish
ELDER06 248
Nothing is a lock, but they will win this game. We can sit here and tear apart everything, but they're not bad enough to lose to a program that lost its best players and HC.
ELDER06 248
There's a lot of jaded people who have a right to be skeptical, then there's those who secretly hope for failure so they can complain. Things aren't great right now, but this team will improve from the disaster of last season. Will that improvement be enough? My gut tells me no. This team, under BK, can literally lose to anyone. It's been proven over and over.

Remember South Florida at home to start the season and who could forget Tulsa letting Rees in his first game because Christ got hut trying to hit Floyd in the end zone instead of kicking a FG!!! Until they prove otherwise they could lose to anybody.
