jumpman5678
Anyone hearing any rumblings that he won't be back next year? Apparently related to his arrest, and not meeting the requirements/obligations of his sentencing.

dangeruss
I haven't heard anything but at this point nothing would surprise me. spring is approaching so that means transfers are coming.
jumpman5678
No idea if it's true, and he's not an active social media guy, so you can't really tell if something is going on. Just multiple boards stating he may be in some hot water.
jfjkd1965
This statement is from another person on a premium message board: Heard it a month ago that he wasn't happy, having academic struggles, etc. Wouldn't surprise me if he's gone. No one losses the offseason like ND does.

No one losses the offseason like ND does. any momentum that ND builds up seems to always be lost in the spring. ND is their own worst enemy. if this is true then I'd be in favor of ND going back to the day when recruits either passed ND admissions or they didn't, no more taking players in that grey area. What does getting arrested and not following up with the terms of reinstatement have to do with gray area? ND gives football players everything they need to succeed. If they don't, it's because they are lazy, not because they aren't smart enough.

I just remember a time when you never heard about players and grades. I don't follow Stanford football very close but I never hear about their players not making grades and they have it harder than ND, also I don't hear about them having weapons either. I just get frustrated cause it seems every offseason ND just cant stop shooting themselves in the foot.

ND will take at-risk players that Stanford won't (Greg Bryant, Louis Nix, Aaron Lynch to name a few). So Stanford generally gets student athletes with a better academic foundation. Then when they get on campus, they don't need as much academic support because they are already good students with good study habits (or can at least do enough to get by). In my opinion, ND provides a tremendous amount of academic support to student athletes, especially football players. If a player fails to make grades, I think it is mostly on him, unless the ND support staff didn't do enough to identify him early enough as a an at-risk student. I think the one thing that needs to change is the course load requirement in the fall semester and the requirement that players graduate in four years. It's too much for many of the players to juggle a full course load (of mostly real classes) on top of football.

Soko
He would be a huge loss. He is an NFL wide receiver, the only one we have imo.

LasVegasIrish
This was something brought up a few days ago, around the same time as Jones. From everything I've heard, is that he wants to be back at Notre Dame and expects to be.

ndomer4
Typical ND offseason where we not only lose guys but endup losing one of our few good players. There were about 3 or 4 easy walk in touchdown Stepherson would have had if our first round qb could have hit a wide open deep ball. Would not surprise me to see him go and then see other good players leave too, seems to happen all the time. Would hate to see it as he is maybe our fastest player but this is what the offseason has become.
