LasVegasIrish
I know we bring up these lists every off-season, but we gain new readers and posters every so often, and I'm not sure we've ever done anything like this before. It will also help show each other's generation a little bit QB: Brady Quinn, he was my first love at ND. RB: Tarean Folston, he was my favorite to watch pre-injury. Hope he gets back to form WR: Golden Tate, he's up there as one of my favorite ND players ever TE: Tyler Eifert, same as Tate OL: It's between Stanley and Zack Martin, probably go Stanley DE: Stephon Tuitt, I said after the draft a few years ago he could end up the best player in the draft. Carving out a nice career in the NFL DT: Trevor Laws, loved his motor LB: Hard to chose between Te'o and Smith. Te'o was revolutionary while Smith was a freak. Both are in my top 5 ever. CB: Not many to chose from, but I always had a soft spot for KVR. Safety: Harrison Smith and Tommy Z What say you guys. davislove
Qb. Malik Zaire? The LSU and Texas wins may be the highlights of my years as a fan. Sad i know. Rb cj procise. He'd also be the player that disappointed me the most as well. Wr. Golden tate. Such a great playmaker. TE. Kyle rudolph. Before i was an ND fan i was a uc basketball fan and i remeber them recruiting him for basketball when he was a sophomore and junior. OL. Zach martin. Gotta love zach. De. Tuitt. Not a lot to choose from in the later years Dt. Sheldon day. He could have been a beast on a different team. Lb. Manti. Not only a great player, I'm forever greatful for him even coming here. Cb. Robert blanton. He was slow, not highly rated but got the best out of his ability. S.druuuuuuuuuuuum rolllllllllllll Nico fertia. I hated his signing. Thought he was tomo 2.0 but i hope his desire to hit rubs off on the other guys.
Dardo
QB: Deshone Kizer i really struggled here. I still love Golson, Quinn and Clausen RB: Julius Jones Best RB I've seen at ND WR: Michael Floyd Just watching him physically rip the ball from DBs hands was awesome TE: Tyler Eifert OL: Jeff Faine Mean MFer DE: Stephon Tuitt DT: Derek Landri LB: Jaylon Smith CB: Vontez Duff That 2002 defense was awesome. S: Tom Z K: Nick Setta P: Hunter the Punter
yikityyakirish
QB: Brady Quinn RB: Theo Riddick FB: Asaph Schwapp TE: Tyler Eifert Slot: CJ Sanders WR: Michael Floyd, Golden Tate OT: Zack Martin, Ronnie Stanley OG: Trevor Robinson, Q. Nelson C: Braxton Cave DE: Stephon Tuitt, Romeo Okwara DT: Louis Nix LB: Manti Te'o, Jaylon Smith, Brian Smith CB: Bennett Jackson, Cody Riggs S: Harrison Smith, Tommy Z As you can see I'm a younger ND fan, but these have been my favorite players since I've followed closely (started becoming die hard near the end of Willingham's tenure)
Irish_Thunder
QB: Brady Quinn, but Jimmy C. Is a close second. RB: Darius Walker Just a little slow scat back, but man did he make some plays while at ND. WR: Can't pick between Samardzija, Floyd, Tate and Fuller but I will say my Boston Terrier is named Floyd. TE: Eifert, such an amazing talent who came in with little excitement and left the program as an elite playmaker. OL: Zach Martin, just a dominant player at both levels. DE: Justin Tuck, he was a sack machine. I thought Aaron Lynch was going to be our best ever. DT: Nix, such a character to follow outside of football and a beast on the field. LB: Jaylon, he was in on every play CB: Shane Walton. Some of my earliest ND memories are of him making big plays. Safety: Ndukwe because the Calvin Johnson crusher. Return man: Zibby all day Kicker: Yoooooon Edited January 7, 2017 by Irish_Thunder
jmfinsd
QB: Joe Montana RB: Jerome Bettis/Mark Green WR: Michael Floyd TE: Mark Bavaro OL: Zach Martin DE: Justin Tuck DT: Chris Zorich LB: Jaylon Smith CB: Shane Walton Safety: Tom Zbikowski Return man: Tim Brown (talent) - Zbikowski (fearlessness) Kicker: Reggie Ho

ndomer4
Started watching in 2003, also love the idea of this thread! QB: Brady Quinn, was my idol growing up and the reason I started playing QB. When i realized I wasn't going to be 6'4 after high school I ended up at DB. RB: Cierre Wood, never thought he got the amount of carries I felt he deserved, don't think we got all out of him we could. WR: Golden Tate, lightning in a bottle, enough said! TE: Tyler Eifert, great all around tight end, so many greats but he was my fav. OL: Zack Martin, still can't remember him ever giving up a sack. DE: Stephon Tuitt, his 2012 year was one for the ages, absolute monster. DT: Trevor Laws, dude was all over the place every snap. Nonstop motor. LB: T'eo, he was the 2012 season, IMO. 7-8 wins without him, loved his heart. CB: Cole Luke, had some bad moments but always had a knack for coming up with a big play. His 8 career picks has to rank up there. Safety: Harrison Smith, loved his turnaround from very average 08 and 09 seasons, such a solid all around player and pick machine in 10 and 11. BrianKellyWasNotTheMan
WR no one was better than Brown and I wasn't even born in 88. Also, Rocket was the best special teams player.

jessemoore97
Wow talk about trying to pick my favorite kid. I'll stick to players that I watched since I started following the Irish in '88. QB: has to be Tony Rice with Kevin McDougal 2nd. RB: Really tough choice Bettis, Brooks bros, Watters, Culver, Becton....I don't know. And how do you classify Rocket RB or WR? FB: Marc Edwards or Bettis. Some of RB's and FB's were interchangeable on Lou's teams. WR: Rocket, Floyd, Tate, or Samardija TE: so many great ones probably Eifert for sheer pass catching OL: Aaron Taylor and Jeff Faine DL: Bryant Young, Tuck, and Zorro LB: Manti, Smith, Stonebreaker, Stams CB: Shane Walton, Todd Lyght, Jeff Burris S: Zibby, Smagala, Terrell, Sapp, Earl KR and PR Rocket with Zibby a distant 2nd for PR K: Reggie Ho God that's tough. I can't even imagine putting together the All ND team. Obviously I'm a little prejudiced for Lou's players.
