SpeedsterX
As an Admin here, I just want to thank you for participating here on DD! I don't think I remember us acknowledging you here and I just wanted you all to know, we appreciate you being here and participating in our discussions! I attended Holy Cross Jr. College in the 80's (didn't finish, went straight into the Army) and we had many of the same professors and work that the ND students were having. I can respect your dedication, hard work, and love for Our Ladies Univerisity! Please! If you attended, let us know here!
jessemoore97
Agree with Speedster. And again thanks to Jersey and Wharton, alums, who provided useful info and insight to me on the Coaches in my lifetime thread. I'm a fan and have no real knowledge of the university personally. I enjoy hearing about aspects of ND that we don't talk about very often here or doesn't involve one of the sports teams. I appreciate the knowledge of members who are alumni and can offer personal experiences about all things ND. It goes a long way in helping me understand ND. So thanks all and keep it coming! irishrush
I graduated in 93 so I was there for a good chunk of the modern day glory years. I've loved ND since i was 6 and they won the NC in 77. I knew I wanted to go there from that point on and worked hard to make it happen. I have family in SB and my uncle was a long time admin at ND so I was privileged enough to get to go to many games before and after I graduated, the hilights being Miami in 88 and FSU in 93. There aren't many things in life I get emotional about other than my family. ND is one of the most important things in my life still to this day. I get chills every time I set foot on campus or see campus on tv. Just a really special place to me and some of my best memories are from there. I don't contribute much on the site, but I get on here way too many times each day to see if there is any news. I value everyone's contribution on the board and consider this my primary location to come to for ND news. Thanks to all that run this site and those that contribute! TexasDomer
Apparently, I graduated with Irishrush in 93! I lived in Grace Hall back when it was actually a dorm. I honestly never considered ND, but on a family trip to Chicago in the summer of 88, my mom wanted to see the campus. When I stepped foot there, I just knew that was where I was supposed to be. I've heard recruits say the same exact thing. It's real. I didn't even follow college football until I started, so I missed the chance to follow them in 1988. But my roommates and I were responsible for lighting the big #1 on Grace Hall during that first fall, when we had it lit until almost the end of the season. I would also like to thank the many people who contribute to making this site what it is, whether your views are mine or whether you have different opinions on something. Thank you all. Jersey Irish
Graduated form Our Lady's University in 1971. Was privileged to be there for the Era of Ara, the best ND coach short of Knute Rockne. Was in Breen-Phillips Hall freshman year (where Joe Theisman, also a Jersey guy like me, lived down the hall in room 315 and I lived in 325); Stanford Hall as soph and was among the first residents of the newly-built high rise dorm, Grace Hall for junior and senior year. Grace wasn't ready for occupancy when the fall semester of my junior year started so we had to bunk in forced triples in Dillon Hall until it was finished in late October. By the way, the year I graduated in 1971 was the last year that ND was all-male. The ladies started to enroll in 1972. So '71 was the last year of the memorable spring panty raids ND guys made at St. Mary's College, an all girls institution, across the road. P.S.My Dad was in the class of 1938. OGianino
Greetings fellow DomerDomain members, I was a May 2000 graduate of Notre Dame in the College of Arts and Letters (American Studies). Do any of you remember having Father Miscamble as a professor? He was an American Foreign Policy expert and had so many hilarious anecdotes he would use during class to make it worthwhile. I miss being on campus now that I call Oklahoma home. I try to make it to one Notre Dame football game in South Bend each year. All I hear from Sooner fans is how the Oklahoma Sooners football team has the best winning percentage since the end of World War II. I just tell them there were plenty of teams playing football prior to the 1940s. I sure hope the football team improves tremendously next season or I'll truly be in misery. Seeing U$C and Michigan excel is hard to stomach. Have a Happy and Blessed New Year and go Irish!!!
Rocketsan
I did a dynasty on NCAA football on the XBox so I feel like I graduated from there...
Kelly Gruene
Graduated in '82. Lived in Grace Hall. Junior and senior years lived next door to Harry Oliver, the kicker. My freshman year was Joe Montana's last year. Went to the Ice Bowl Cotton Bowl game and saw his last game at ND. Some of my favorite memories were trudging through the snow to the ACC to see Tripucka, Laimbeer, Woolridge, and Hanzlik in some of the early glory years of ND basketball. Wharton70
in the mid 60's (like Sorin) St Eds was a 'cool guys' hall - Lyons was the high GPA hall, but great location - Keenan, Stanford, Fisher and Pangbang were newer, with less tradition, Badin also had a cool cache, right by the bookstore, Gilberts and the basketball courts.
