Kellyisit
REPORT: Chip Long from Memphis to be ND's new OC I can get on board with this. Awesome recruiter and seems to get good results against good competition (see the stat about results against ranked opponents). This is another 3 year deal like Elko. yikityyakirish
Guys...I think we just made an excellent hire "Coach Long is originally from Birmingham, Alabama, and has great ties to the region. He has coached in the SEC, Big East, Big Ten, as well as the Pac-12 and is a dynamic addition" 3 times has had a top 10 offense in PPG been at Illinois, Arkansas, Memphis, Arizona State Named top 25 recruiter by 247 in 2015 Interesting note-- has a history of recruiting/developing h-backs/fullbacks/tight ends Memphis offense actually improved this year even with the loss of Paxton Lynch Edited December 30, 2016 by yikityyakirish
Kid Gloves
I like the hire. As long as BK gives him the control to run the O and doesn't half *** it like he has in the past.
ndomer4
Maybe Kelly realized he needs to step out of his comfort zone and hire from outside as his guys weren't cutting it. Another solid hire, I am building up high hopes for 2017 already. I really am seeing 8 wins as our floor next year, i applaud Kelly for some great and logical hires which is really unlike him. He does know that last year hurt his stock in the eyes of everyone so if he really wants to go to the NFL he could use 2-3 really good seasons, like 11+ wins. These hires are a good step in that direction, just need a new strength coach now.

dangeruss
Interesting note-- has a history of recruiting/developing h-backs/fullbacks/tight ends is ND going to focuse more on the running game? man I hope so.
corysold
If they get 39 per game and give up 22 per game, ND should win a lot of games.

ottawand
Once again I am pleasantly surprised by this hire. It is safe to assume that he will be given the keys to the offense or he wouldn't have accepted the position considering the interest in him from other schools. golson5
This is another good hire. A Mike Sanford hire. Young up and coming offensive mind who can recruit.
JTennant
Will someone who knows about assistants contracts dive into the 3 year deal we have give both new coordinators and explain what they think that means..
jessemoore97
We're going to run the ball more. Next great OC who will actually call the plays. Yada yada..... Same old, same old song and dance. When will we ever learn especially under this coach. Until he's gone not much changes, especially for the better.
