cali_domer
Not saying this is definative but if true ND admin are really stupid. http://www.profootballweekly.com/2016/12/29/the-way-we-hear-it-brian-kelly-wants-out-of-south-bend-but-no-nfl-team-wants-him/ampxssw/
ndomer4
His best bet is too have as good of a season as he can muster in 2017. 2016 really hurt his image even though I'm not too sure NFL brass ever thought too highly of him. If he can get 11-13 wins next year then he can show 2016 was a fluke and maybe teams will start listening. I still think NFL teams are reluctant to hire college guys as head coaches. Sure Carroll and Harbaugh worked out but there are many more failures.
LasVegasIrish
Although I believe Kelly would love to coach in the NFL, I think this report is much to do about nothing. It is nothing we haven't heard before, and I don't think he "trying" to find a way out.
Irish_Convert
It wouldn't surprise me if he or his agent were at least putting out feelers to NFL teams. 2015 notwithstanding, I wouldn't be surprised if he's burned out at ND. It just feels to me that his tenure plateaued after 2012 and last year in particular he often looked like he was tired of trying to figure out the answer to get back to that level. It hasn't all been his fault or in his hands but after his star skyrocketed at Cincinnati, his ego started writing checks that his abilities can't cash. golson5
It sure has legs again. All over the Internet now. Meaningless because he has ZERO chance of getting an NFL job.
coltssb
Meaningless because he has ZERO chance of getting an NFL job. Exactly. No chance he becomes a head coach at an NFL team this coming season. Either its fans, other coaches trying to poach ND recruits or BK trying to get out, this just isn't happening. goirish83
Lol its absolutely ludicrous to think any nfl team would even think about approaching kelly after this disaster of a season, but I completely believe he would jump ship if offered
Frankus
It's hard to believe that ND wants a situation where there would be a turnover of so many coaches and then have the head coach leave. The most logical conclusion is that Swarbrick believes in Kelly and that he and Kelly think an overhaul of the coaching staff will yield better results. We'll see. irishguy773
It sure has legs again. All over the Internet now. It really doesn't yet. It's all just re reporting of this same internet post that is shared here. There's no correlations, just a lot of the people posting the same article. hawaiiirish
Very Possible KELLY WOULD LOVE TO LEAVE FOR ANY NFL TEAM! An Impossible Dream that any NFL TEAM WOULD HIRE A COLLEGE COACH ON THE HOT SEAT AFTER A COMPLETE FAILURE OF A SEASON! aloha

IRISHKENLIFER
I did hear a rumor, and it's just a rumor, that Kelly's lake home is for now for sale. I heard this from someone who has a vacation home on the same lake. Makes you wonder!
Rocketsan
All this talk of Kelly still looking for an out is extremely frustrating. I say cut ties regardless of the optics of having to pay out another exiting coach. Sh!t or get off the pot, Brian...
JTennant
Well if there is any creedance to this, the 49ers are planning on parting ways with Chip Kelly very soon...
ELDER06
Be real, no GM is going to be able to sell hiring a coach that just went 4-8. He can look so he wants, he's not going anywhere.

Totally different game. Handcuffed by academics and suspensions/dismissals etc. He can sell it. He's managed to sell himself to Swarbrick and the BOT...
