Rogue One

I liked it a lot, it was a big departure from the Star Wars formula. In a lot of ways it did not feel like a Star Wars movie at all. It is the kind of movie that actually from a quality standpoint could have stood on it's own without the Star Wars marketing machine making it sell. We are big Diego Luna fans in our house (He did one of the voices in Book of Life, one of my kids' favorites) and my wife and I both enjoyed the well timed humorous moments.

Definitely worth seeing.

I'll eventually see it but hard for me to get my head around a "Star Wars" movie without the Force, Syth's, LIGHTSABER BATTLES and Jedi's.

Spoilers, but there is a Sith, some force and some lightsaber action - probably some of the coolest action from that particular Sith I have seen - and it was only like a minute of screen time.

REALLY?? They didn't show any of that in the trailers. NOW I'm interested...

I get what you mean. I'm glad they made this one, and there will be some additional one shots that don't focus on everyone's favorite dysfunctional Jedi/Sith family. Star Wars has such potential to branch out into its extended universe. Two of the rumored one shots are a young Han Solo movie and one centered around Boba Fett. Frankly I'm tired of the Jedi, Force, and a Death Star type weapon being the recurring themes. Their is such a rich amount of material they can work with and produce films tied into that universe but explore other concepts beside the same old same old.

I think this is the best Star Wars movie when compared without precedence (the original will always be the best best as it set the standard). The movie comes across as real and not some video game. When I came home I watched IV and it was fabulous how they tied together.

Lucas really lost control of the special effects in I, II and III and they took on a life of themselves, became a video game. I'd like to see those movies be redone with good actors.
