KellyisNasty
Per 'sources.' Maybe we can give him a two-fer? If I were Urban, and I wanted to screw over ND, I would spread the rumor that I wanted Elston even though I didn't want him. That would guarantee that Elston gets the DC job and Urban would gleefully hurt ND like he has done for years. Dude has a serious hardon for Notre Dame. ottawand
Now Kelly can justify his hiring of Elston as DC saying that Elston had several offers to leave ND. In fact maybe these rumours were started by Kelly.

I've been wondering if a coach has actually ever survived "the hot seat". Once a coach's name is mentioned as being on the hot seat, it seems to me that it's only a matter of time before he's fired. It might be a few months, maybe an entire season, but I just don't know if a coach that's rumored to be "on the hot seat" actually ever actually got off that seat without being fired. If it's the case that every coach who's been mentioned as being on the hot seat has actually been fired, then maybe ND should just cut ties right now (my preference) rather than suffer through the additional indignities of a 6-7 or 7-6 or 8-5 season in 2017. If ND won every game next year 50+ to 0 including the playoffs and was crowned the best team to ever exist. Everyone on this board would still be clamoring for him to be hanged. So in short, no. He's done after next year no matter what.

Okay, if Kelly wins every game by 50+ to zip, and wins the N.C. I want you to publicly declare your love of Kelly in a personal ad in the SBT. Deal?
