echo88
That's a very well-written letter. Bonus props for correct usage of "foundering".
ckp160
Not an alumni.... of any college really..... but are the alumni really that upset about the renovations to the stadium? Just curious.
JTennant
I would really like them to start painting the helmets again.. I really like this letter as a non alumni. In a very articulate way, it reminds me of why I am a fan not having any immediate family member ever graduating from Notre Dame.
golson5
That was an awful letter. Must be the guys from ndnation. The old fans who want it to be like 1920 at ND stadium. Shut up already. The field turf, the speakers, the upgrade of the stadium, the jumbotron, the added seats, the night games. They are all improvements that were long overdue. We're trying to compete finally and enter the new century. These are the old fans who make our fans sit down and yell at fans for cheering too loud. It's why our stadium sounds like a church and is nothing compared to the loudest stadiums across the country. It's time for them to go! And do they really think having a training table and more time in the athletics facility is a concession along with the other nonsense they wrote? My God, this is commonplace and needed. It's not a concession, it should have been done decades ago. Jack has been trying to get us to the latest century in terms of these things. I like the changes that he's trying to make. The problem is we're so far behind. We're trying to get where other schools have been for 20 years. Replacing Kelly is arguable and debatable. And maybe something Jack needs to do. BUT the other things he's done and is trying to do should be commended. Keep moving us forward Jack. These old and crusty alumni think we're living in the 20s still. Dear Board of Fellows, You are using your white privilege to restrict us. You should like, offer us a safe space instead of a training table. Also, we are cool with sub .500 seasons if you promise to forgive all of our student loans and stuff. We also want to get tickets for, like, free once we reach the age of 30 and move out of our parent's house. We just wanna keep the harmony alive and make sure everyone is happy and that there (sic) feelings aren't injured. Sincerely, Millennials
golson5
So many ND fans have this elitist attitude the way things should be done. All while Bama Michigan OSU LSU USC are all upgrading and improving and have passed us up in the last 20 years. We're playing catch up now. Basic things like a night game causes panic and distress for fans of Note Dame. It's sickening already

golson5
Asking for a quasi-capable coach and an AD that at least feigns attempts to remedy glaring issues is not being elitist. Then ask for a better coach and better AD. Stop with the other non sense like field turf, renovations, jumbotron, training tables. Things that were/are needed. Stop living in the past. Letters like this is why elite coaches don't want to be here. Can't win consistently with a fan base and board that are stuck in the 20s. Things are different now. Time to adapt. If you want the coach and AD out fine. Leave the other things out of the letter
Jersey Irish
Great letter. But I would also ask for Father Jenkins removal as president as he has tried to make ND more secular and has not furthered ND's ability to grow, develop, and serve its Catholic mission. The mention of amenities such as the jumbotron lasted all of 2 sentences and it's the only part of the letter that I disagreed with.
