FaithInIrish Forever
Whether its Alize Jones, (in the video) Eifert, Rudolph, on and on. Tight ends are crucial to ND's Success [ame] [/ame] [ame] [/ame] [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6UwzaYPCq8[/ame]

Whether its somebody already on the roster like Alize' Jones, the incoming guys, or someone else. Tight ends and Running backs are the skill positions that ND has produced over and over throughout the years.

KellyisNasty
Giesecki for Penn St looks great ion the championship game. I miss having TEs that go up and get the ball over everyone and have glue for hands.

When he gets right with his grades Alize Jones is a special player. I concede Giesecki and Jones are different types. Giesecki is more like Rudolph or a guy Stanford had in Toilolo(names not spelled right) Big basketball player types. Alize Jones is more like Funchess they had at Michigan he's a large wideout in the NFL. My point: Please don't forget about Alize' Jones. I think he has a comeback story in him

At some point we need to get back to ND Football wich to me involves controlling the middle of the field both in the run and pass. This was the first year Kelly didn't get a meaningful chunk of yardage from a tight end. They are that important that I am not surprised its the same year he's 4-8. Its not the only reason but it is one. Edited December 4, 2016 by FaithInIrishForever

Also Tight ends are great near the goaline.

jessemoore97
Dave Casper Mark Bavaro How can we forget Ken MacAfee? Third in Heisman, Walter Camp POY, and 3x 1st team AA. I agree a million percent that ND needs to continue the legacy of TE U. Totally under-utilized the past couple years.

ndomer4
I'm banking on Alize Jones too, he had all season to train so he should be on another level.

KellyisNasty
Wasn't Eifert considered a tweener? 6'6 250 is probably not a tweener for the NFL, but going into ND he probably was since he was much lighter. His blocking is superb also so you wouldn't have to constantly split him out like they do for Graham. Recently all the TEs drafted are within 5 lbs of the 250lb range. Its weird.
