Another Rumor

Saw this on twitter a few weeks back directed towards Tyler James from SBT and Sampson, but the claims were ND was joining he BIG10 and then news would break in the next few months. Now there's a poster on the Rivals premium board stating the same thing.

Hahaha Another rumor this is not close to the truth. When are we gonna stop with these rumors

Lol these rumors are ridiculous, not a single one of them have proven to be true and this one seems the most unlikely.

In saying that, it's where we belong. I never understood the acc deal considering we're in Indiana. If we ever join a conference it should be the big ten.

The thought is the ACC wouldn't exist. Essentially the BIG would go with two divisions with 10 teams in each division. It goes back to the super conferences. It honestly isn't that far fetched. By the way, the poster who put this on Rivals is a friend of a coach on the staff. He brings things to the board occasionally, and more often than not, they're true.

Geographically Big Ten may make sense but for culture of academics and athletics, ACC makes more sense. We don't wrestle but we play lacrosse and are strong in womens sports like the ACC.

If we were to join a conference it should be the big 10, atleast geographically. e would be able to play traditionals like Michigan, MSU, Purdue and then interesting matchups vs OSU/Wisky/PSU. That would leave us to still play USC, Navy, Stanford and someone else. Looking at the strength of the Big 10 we would end up with a pretty tough schedule and I'm not sure we'd do all that well.

I've heard enough rumors the last 2 weeks so I'll believe it when I see it.

My sister has a friend that knows a guy that once played golf with the wife of a man that played football once on the same field as a guy that once saw Jack Swarbrick in an airport and apparently they heard from this guy that ND has been experimenting with cloning using DNA from a mosquito that was trapped in tree sap on campus...and next year ND's coach will be Knute Rockne....or a raptor...one of those.

Before you condemn me,I think we should join the SEC. What good does being in the Big 10 do for recruiting. It would be very hard to compete with Mich and OS. If we joined the SEC, we would have a lot to sell. I realize it wouldn't make much sense in any sport except football. And of course it wouldn't do much for academics. But damn we would have a hell of a schedule every year.

Too far geographically and too much disparity in students. A lot of kids in the SEC territory just don't qualify at ND academically, we would be getting a small subset. There are a couple schools in the B1G that compare favorably academically, and the geography is much better. It would make ND look like they ultimate coat tail rider.

Go to 8 game playoff and create 3 playoff games for the rest. Top independent gets in based on BCF ranking but must be in top 25.

This way Ohio State does get a buy week and all potential candidates are playing same number of games.

Drop a game from regular season.

LOL. Please. A #24 ranked ND would not deserve an 8 team playoff berth
