Keep a close eye on the DC position. It's one of the most visible coordinator positions open, albeit for a potentially lame duck coach. But if BK wanted to, he could probably make a splash with a solid external candidate (even Strong for a year).

 

If he announces a hire from within, this may signal to us that he is on the way out and this is just a place holder (potentially interim HC).

I've seen that he's at least being interviewed, with all due respect to Elston kelly has to make a much bigger splash for this hire. In saying that it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if this is where he decided to go

Then Elston will bring Diaco's defense back, we'll 3-4 cover 2, cats and dogs etc.

 

That's acceptable to me. I don't want another NFL Guru hire, who has EVER been in the same room as Rex Ryan.

 

I think that extra position should be spent on a Special Teams Coach. Move Booker to the recruiting position.

 

Like you said find a better fundamental defense, yards ok, points not.

Yes. It is. Although maybe BK will permit an exception to his clockwork nepotism considering it's a candidate who beat him.

 

We are gonna end up with some guy named John or Bill who has never coached at the D1 level before.
