Worst 5 losses in the Kelly Era

We should also start a thread about top 5 worst wins.. How many times have we barely beaten a clearly inferior team. How many times did we come out and lay an egg, instead of being ready to go from the start. That is always on coaching .

 

This would be an interesting list, so many games to choose from! Army will probably be on the worst loss list or the worst close wins list, jeez compiling that list would take some time.

Not in the worst 5, but I think there are some parallels between--

 

2012 ND BCS against Bama

&

2016 election

 

Elitist, liberal (arts) VS a sea of red.

 

Ideas/Scheme VS blue collar workers.

 

And a decisive loss that sent the liberal side into 4+ years of mediocrity.

In looking back at this and doing the research, it's a real head-scratcher how he didn't get fired after losing the team in 2014. Know we had injuries, but that four game stretch (even against lowered Vegas expectations), was much uglier than this year.

In hindsight, losing to LSU in the Who Gives a Crap Bowl would have been better for the program. Could have easily canned him then, taken 2015 to rebuild and had a real shot this year... Alas, coulda shoulda woulda.
