ndomer4
Maybe the worst dc in nd history. I hate playing the what if game but we could easily have won every game if he wasn't dc minus Stanford since that was on the offence and nc state on the hurricane. Think with a top notch dc the defense can be good in the future. Vaughn and love look like a pretty solid duo for the next few years. Especially Vaughn, can't remember us having a guy with his length and for a freshman has great cover skills. Jones and Morgan really were the heart and soul of the defence, just imagine if we had these guys last year. Bvg not having Morgan on the field killed our 2015 season and could have been the difference in a playoff spot. Tranquil also looking like Georgia tech tranquill from last season. I still want Kelly gone but I won't complain while we win. Before this game I still thought we could win out, take it one game at a time and we possibly can. I thought this team had quit but they had not. The muffed punt brought back memories of classic Kelly games likes Tulsa, northwestern and south Florida. What a gutsy win!!! I think they're 6-2 without BVG. I'm with you, I want Kelly gone, but I'll never ever root vs Notre Dame
goirish83
I think at worst were 5-3 but yeah probably 6-2. Miami was the best offense we've played all season and the defense stepped up big time. With a big time coordinator and so many guys getting such valuable playing time this season i could definitely see good things happening next year
Green Goblin
Young DBS really were strong yesterday. Best performance from them all year. I think it will be a position of real strength next year due to this trial by fire this year. Pressure makes diamonds.
SDIrishFan
Curious if anyone has stats for pre-bvg and post bvg?
irishrush
54th nationally today. 49 spots higher than with BVG. Per Eric Hansen

goirish83
Now ND needs a special teams coach.... Agree, with a new special teams coach and a strong d coordinator maybe just maybe we can get it back on track next year. Changes are going to have to be made, if not the head coach then Kelly has to understand the situation and make some big time changes to the staff. He should be smart enough to recognize that with the type of season hes had in year 7 he'll have much less slack next year and even those in his camp now will expect 9+ wins or he wont be back for 2018. Personally i believe heistand and booker definitely need to go and quite honestly if he's able to bring in a big time d coordinator (I'm not holding my breath) and that guy had a staff or certain assistants he wanted to bring with him i would be ok if anyone on the defensive staff were to be let go. I do think with a "good" D coordinator, our team could be pretty good next year . Maybe this is the season Kelly needed, to remember fundementals are more important in college , then the scheme . Especially with younger players. I don't think we will ever be consistently good with Kelly, but every 3 years, we might be top 10. I wish ND would strive for better then that, but it doesn't seem like they will. I think new Oline coach and scheme is needed, I think new strength coach is needed(won't happen). And anyone who know anything about special teams would be great. I was happy to see the players play so hard yesterday, and was actually impressed with our young DBs. Thought they made some nice plays on the ball(for once). I just can't help but think how much better our players could play if we had better coaching across the board. Good win for the players though, and needed.

davislove
Sorry guys, but no way is this all squarely on BVG... Had he been fired last year we probably wouldn't have had such a bad start. Now we have to shuffle coaching duties and a broken team. I think BVG is the source.
