Still we need pass rushers bad!!! Ok watched the tape, while he doesn't look very fast or explosive he has very nice hips and ball skills. Will need to get more strength and explosion in his legs but I could see him maybe contributing by his junior season. All the efforts to land guys w/explosiveness is reserved for the offensive side of the ball, while the defense is filled in with guys that "are good enough." LasVegasIrish 0 Posted October 19, 2016 Share Posted October 19, 2016 He's a long corner. Great length. HS coach has some really impressive things to say about him as well. 4% body fat and 4.0 GPA. Seems to fit the bill as a ND kid. More of a physical corner than pure speed cover corner, but he is fluid. Looks like a really solid athlete to me. It wasn't an indictment on this particular kid, just my distaste for the recruiting philosophy of this regime. I appreciate the highlight-reel-type skill players, but IMO we desperately need at least a few difference makers on D, but save for a very few guys over the last 7 years, we never see them. Tough time seeing him play next year with Watkins and Crawford back. No way he'll be ahead of the three or four freshmen corner we have either. Vaughn is impressing and while I haven't got a great look at Pride or Love they both had some of the better db tapes I've seen from commits recently. Love has looked really good to me along with Vaughn, haven't noticed pride as much but that may be in a good way. It seems like cornerbacks was a position of need for such a long time and we are finally getting some big time players there. I'm all for rankings, offers, film, etc. in fact I'm a junkie for it all, but none of us really know if this kid will be a future first round pick or never see the two deep. Hopefully none of the doomsday folks here are attacking our kids on Twitter as there were multiple reports of Jeter getting some very nasty comments though it wouldn't surprise me to learn folks from DD are contributing..appreciate your efforts and looking forward to learning how the class shakes out. GO IRISH! Unfortunately, every fan base has idiots that call out recruits via social media. It's really sad that people feel the need to do that to other human beings for no reason.
