Posted September 24, 200618 yr I am shocked. I dont know what to say outside of I apologize to Brady for doubting him!!! Im sorry Quinn I should've known better!!!!!
September 24, 200618 yr Brady did well... But I think the D won the game (literally) for us. They kept the pressure on even when the O had some turnovers.
September 24, 200618 yr unreal the D stepped up, the front four put alot of pressure they have to improve alot for USC still but they got plenty of time to do that
September 24, 200618 yr I beg to differ Sir John. He struggled early, 2-8, but after that, he was 18-29 with FIVE TOUCHDOWNS. Brady pulled it together in a monsoon, and the offense stepped up. Sometimes a game like this can change an entire season (probably for both teams in this case)
September 24, 200618 yr ha ha thats awesome, poor russ i bet he doesnt care one bit im sure hes loving the ND win
September 24, 200618 yr Hmm, if you simply look at Quinn's stats from the game you would think that he must've played really well. However, if you actually watched the game, you would have winesses him playing like shit for the first 2 and half quarters missing his receivers on almost every play. Sure BQ came and did some really nice things like those 2 really well thrown TD passes to McKnight, but it's important to remember that had he not missed his receivers on 5 and 10 yard passes in the beginning of the game that ND might now have been in that situation. BQ has potential, but still needs a TON of work if he is going to lead us to a win over USC and become a productive NFL QB.
September 24, 200618 yr completely agree NDfan3.....perfectly stated. Quinn's stats look amazing, he'll be back in the Heisman picture, and we can prolly run off a bunch of wins from here on out.....but BQ has to get his game together. How many out-patterns to wide open Samardzija and McKnights does he have to throw before people begin to see what we're seeing? It MUST improve, for the sake of the team and BQ's future.
September 24, 200618 yr I would like to thank John L Smith, for going into the tank two years in a row. Last year we only managed OT, this year we finished it off. And to all of the MSU fans, I know that look on your face, it is the look of Davieham
September 24, 200618 yr i bet he doesnt mind but i bet he is crying in his HATER soup!!! jk ..its ok russ we need (other) fans on the board..
September 24, 200618 yr Did Brady Quinn help the team turn this game around? Yes, no doubt. However, I do not think he deserves to be in the Heisman running. A Heisman winner would not have got himself in that situation. We would have been ahead by 3 TDs first quarter if he was Heisman potential. Do I love Notre Dame? Sure do but this shit has to stop. You can not play that way the first half of every game and expect to come back everytime. IE Michigan last week. Don't look over Purdue they are 4-0. Might not have played great teams but they have no loses but we do. Michigan played crap teams before us too. Don't look past Airforce. These teams will be hyped for ND. Brady Quinn must be having women problems. The kid has some identity crisis going on. We did not get the real Brady until the second half. Geez, I almost had a heart attack.
September 24, 200618 yr Brady Quinn just got back in the heisman! I the 1st quarter he was 2/8 for 13 yards. After that he was 18/28 for 313 yds and 5 scores. The MSU game is alsways one we cn lose and the fact that we pulled this out is gravy. We should have lost and we came out with the miracle. We will be 10-1 when we enter the colliseum and that will be the deciding game. And Terail Lambert just made up for every mistake he has ever committed
September 24, 200618 yr This is why we are Notre Dame... only we can pull this crap off... crazy night...
September 24, 200618 yr what?? i went to bed cause i couldnt take any more (and i was really drunk) what the heck happened???
September 24, 200618 yr Michigan State decides to play it conservative. Then shoots self in foot because of costly penalties. At one point they had four ten-yard penalties on the same series - ND had to decline the last one making it fourth down-putting them out of being close to field goal range to back to their own 25 yard line. The ND defense stepped up big time stuffing Michigan State. Good quarterback pressure and did not give up a big play. Ndukwe stripped the ball out of Stanton's hands and recovered. That lead to an Irish score. Terrail Lambert had two key interceptions. The first one is the game winning touchdown and the second one (amazing to see the replay) ended Michigan State's last drive. After a terible first half and a shaky start to the second half, Quinn was on fire. He finished the night with five TD passes. Smardijza and McKnight both looked great. Carlson caught a huge 4 and 8 pass by running up the middle for 40+ yards. He later caught a 62 yard touchdown. Oh yeah, there was the Gioia missed extra point and the Zibkowski punt return called back and INT on penalties.
September 24, 200618 yr Go to ESPN.com right now. They have about three different clips on the game. The fight on the Notre Dame sideline does not do the Irish justice. Nevermind the pushing and shoving and bad mouthing that was started by Michigan State. All I could think about was how happy the President of Michigan State was that the students could not light East Lansing on fire because of the driving rain.
September 24, 200618 yr On the topic of Brady Quinn playing poorly. He started off bad, which he's been having a problem with this season, but you cannot argue how well he played down the stretch. Let's also not forget that he was playing in a near monsoon. Throwing passes in that muck was not an easy task. Besides the interception, Brady Quinn played three great quarters of football, especially considering the conditions he was in and the fact Michigan State knew he had to pass
I am shocked. I dont know what to say outside of I apologize to Brady for doubting him!!! Im sorry Quinn I should've known better!!!!!
