I have seen numerous posts (on other boards) about wanting Clausen to get into school and denegrating BQ. Let me tell you that BQ is 400 times the QB that Clausen has been. And if any of you think that BQ is the problem and that JC is better than PLEASE speak up. I already know that the VAST majority of you know VERY little about football. But, I would love to know the FULL extent of the matter.

 

The sad thing for all you disillusioned fans is that JC is nowhere near the quality athlete that BQ is and will be. If BQ can't get it done, JC will NEVER get it done. One of our other freshman QBs will start next year and JC will sit the bench for 2 years and transfer. Mark it down. Take a picture. And swallow it!

BQ, has all the tools, but coming out of high school Jimmy is much better, just like Brohm was much better

 

who knows what happens to them in college, but you can't say Jimmy won't be as good as BQ, he has suprassed him as a high school players, and my guess is that 4 years with Weis and just a better starting talent level will make Jimmy the better QB in the end

 

i dont think anyone thinks JC steps in next year and has a better year than Brady, hell the whole team will be down next year because they will be young, but by the time Jimmy leaves he has a good shot at being a better QB than Brady

Yes, the OL needs to give much more protection, but BQ absolutely sucked today. Over thrown, under thrown, just atrocious. That having been said, I can see we're all in the dumps and some seem to be turning on eachother. Please remember this. When ND has an awful game, it brings us all way down. However, when we as individuals have a bad day, ND doesn't give a shit. Neither Weis, Quinn, the University of Notre Dame as a whole, care if you lose your job, if your daughter gets knocked up, or you have a spot on your lung. They don't care and won't lose one minute of sleep over it. So, they lost. Life moves on. Let's not disembowel eachother over a bunch of 20 year-olds who don't even know we breathe, and really don't care. On the MSU. God help the Spartans, cause I can smell an asskickin.

I said it before today and was told that I must know nothing about football , and I'll say it again....some of the things that BQ does scare me. Obviously he is really playing poorly now and isn't at the same level he was last season, but until he is playing up to his potential I have no problem saying that he is not the amazing player that TD made him out to be the other day. It sucks that we lost and our whole TEAM played poorly, but at least I can reassure myself that I know about football

Well Vagas here we go again! BIG NEWSFLASH: Quinn hasnt looked good since the season started. Quite frankly the offense hasnt looked good since the season started. Before we start making comparisons to Jimmy Clausen lets allow Clausen to get to the point where Quinn is in his career then we can talk about making comparisons. Your ripping the kid and he hasnt played a down yet for Notre Dame so your Quinn is however many times better of an athlete than Clausen is or ever will be statement really has no merit. The experts whomever they may be compare Clausen to John Elway who happens to probably be the greatest highschool quarterback to ever play on that level. I didnt hear that about Quinn coming out of high school so you can put a big check mark in the Clausen column if you really want to start making comparisons and after making a comment like that I have to call into question YOUR football knowledge or lack thereof. Its funny how tastless posts seem to just fall out of your head and through to your fingers!

Truth is I have always liked Brady Quinn. I can tell just about any fan of any school that "my quarterback can beat up your quarterback."

 

But a friend of mine said a very interesting thing a couple of weeks ago. He said, "Quinn looks like a guy who does curls in front of a mirror." And you know what, I sort of agree with him.

 

BQ looks like a stud, but what we need is a man who throws and plays like Joe did (no, not Nameth -- although that might work too). Brady still needs some help on his short touch passes. And, come to think of it, maybe a little on his long passes too. Even the interception after the tip to Carlson was not a well thrown ball, although it probably should have been caught. And either no one is getting open or else Brady just is not finding them.

 

Mostly, it's a shame that BQ didn't have an extra year with Coach Weis. I think that would have made a world of difference. In fact, mark my words, barring an injury BQ will be a much better QB at the end of this season.

 

Now, JC is going to get the whole four years. Maybe he won't start all four. Maybe he will. But, barring a heart attack, Coach Weis will give him four years of tutoring that will give him the chance at being one of the best ever. Maybe we'll end up calling him Hollywood Jimmy.

 

Brady will move on to the NFL. I think he'll end up a good one. Hopefully better than Mirer. Maybe as good as Beurlein.

 

And can't we all just admit that we've done curls in front of the mirror before?

OK, I've done curls, but only once and that was after and ND loss ...

Thanks for getting all philosophical nicepost, but it still sucks to lose. The President does not know me, but I still care about his descisions. Everyone here absolutely has the right to bitch. And also, I personally brought up Gary Gray and Steve Filer for push-ups. I worked it out with the ushers before the game and brought them up and personally held their hands while they went up and they were loving it. I know we got crushed. but the students were wild. And Filer loved that my boy was also from mt. carmel. And Claussen said he would go up when we hit 28.

Everyone back off of the ledge of the cliff! We will be fine remeber that Pete Carrol and USC did not win a Championship until his third or fourth year. So calm down!!!!!

I feel that after the loss Brady may play a bit looser with the expectations of Heisman's gone.

 

However any chance of NC gone because of margin of defeat.There will be 1 loss teams that will have lost in squeakers.

 

Much a I hate to say it we need USC to go undefeated now until we play them.

Brady had a horrific game and a bad start to the season.

 

Although JC may start out as a backup in his ND career, he will do very good at ND.

The post wasn't about stopping people's right to bitch. It was an attempt to stop some Domers from going after eachother after the loss. It was plenty hot here on the boards after the game and nothing good was going to come of it. Some were starting to "eat their own young" last night on the boards and I was trying to keep it all in perspective. Comparing presidential decisions of global importance with a Saturday football game is a tad odd, but I stand by what I said; Weis, Quinn and Co. don't give a tinkers damn how your day went. And I absolutely agree; Let's roll over MSU.

We all fell apart in some way last night. We need to get the out of our system and move on. Pay back to Michigan State next week for that flag and the state of Michigan for last nights 'game.'

Guys i used to get like this every weekend when ND played and if they lost I would go crazy.Wanting pick something up and throw at my TV.But, after going through 10 years of watching ND lose alot of games you get used to it.So I learned how to keep my Bad attitude in check. And I would pray that they would paly better the following year.With the recruits that we are getting and the ones that we will probably get this season.I don't see us going to the big game until some of our big time recruits get a couple of years under there belt.
