ok that was embarrassing and we played horrible, i don't even know how to explain it but it was bad, the line can't block, quinn can't throw, but ill tell you what worries me most of all is our wideouts don't get open, but i dont want to talk about that game anymore, im floored with how flat they were

but do not make me laugh guys, the sky is not falling on recruiting, we go over this every week, one win or one loss doesnt make a difference, sure it was ugly and sure alot of big boys were there but do you want to know what, kids were at the MSU game and still came on board, seriously trust me on this it won't make that big of difference with recruits

Nobody will jump ship, we won't lose anyone we have and we will land kids

stop with the sky is falling crap, if you want to say this team sucks then fine, we will still likely go to USC with one loss, a NC is not going to happen, a BCS game is still possible, the rest of the schedule does not have a D like this, we have seen if you double Jeff and Rhema and rush 5 you can stop our O, thats because we don't have a third wideout, and our guards are just horrible, im sorry but they can't block anyone, Young and Harris are atleast ok, Brady gets knocked because he gets all the hype but he couldnt get set in the pocket, and the wideouts were not getting open and Carleson blew. I like what DW brings but we have to find a back who can take over a game. I really think Aldridge and Prince are going to be there one day but not this year. And our corners still can't cover, i know the freshman aren't ready but its time for them to start getting ready, they have to play against PU, Standford, UNC, Army, Navy, and Air force, and they have to play alot, we really need these young guys to step up before USC and be ready.

be thankful that we have a ton of cupcakes, I watched MSU today and that O is good but there D is not, and i think after being embarrassed we will be ready to play next week after that its all downhill till USC

this was the last dominate D we will see for a long time, and we will start looking good again

sorry for the rant

but trust me the sky is not falling, we won't lose any recruits and we will be fine with the guys that were there...i put my word on that

Completely agree TD. They were soooo terrible in every facet of the game it is almost difficult to comprehend. I also think that Weis needs to evalute some of his play calling during the game. Well an embarassing let down this week should lead to an incredible ass whooping on MSU next week, and I know we will all love to see that!!

I don't completely agree with this at all. I saw Quinn miss McKnight at least twice towards then end of the game. I didn't even get to watch the whole thing, but I'm sure he missed more than that. He isn't what he is hyped up to be. I think that the pressure has gotten to his head.

no the pressure has gotten to him from the D we can't block anyone

you know what else we do not have a third wideout, it is exteremly important in Weis's system to have a third wideout, and we don't have anyone. its really thrown the whole offense off

Brady will still be a top NFL pick, he has all the tools, but he has no inside line and he has only two weapons at wideout

sure he missed McKnight on a few throws, every QB does, and the precentages go up when a man is in his face or he has to be moving

without a third wideout and a decent inside line we can't play with the big boys

we will look good the next 8 games and you all will be saying wow maybe Quinn isnt so bad, but the key is if you have a good-great D and you can rush up the middle and play over the top on our two wideouts you are in good shape

Quinn is fine, he had to throw like 50 times and he probably got knocked down close to 20, he has all the makeup of a top notch NFL qb, you wait in see because he will still be the first QB taken, taken over both Smith and Stanton, even Brohm (if he came out which he won't)

yea, but mknight was WIDE open on some of those deep throws and quinn was just off, the pressure did have alot to do with it but quinn had a bad day overall

im not saying he had a good day, but the pressure will drop any QB's percentage, how do teams beat payton manning? pressure

we don't have a reliable interior of the line and we don't have a third wideout, thats what i think is wrong with this team, and thats why Brady is going to look off, he has to force stuff and weis's offense is drastically scaled back because of the lack of a third wideout

So TD you don't think we lose any of the prospects that were at the game today?

no we don't lose anyone who is on board

i dont think we were going to sign everyone at the game today, win or loss, but i honestly do not believe one bad game sends those kids packing, i know for a fact that won't happen

if you had 25 kids in your head you thought we would sign before today, those should still be the same 25 after the game

making the visit is the important part and seeing ND, and the stadium, the result of the game is the least important part, sure the crowd was quiet and it was a bad game, but making the trip and seeing the campus and meeting the academic people and seeing the locker room, stadium, and coaches before and after the game matters the most

no one will be like well ND got killed i don't want to go there

kids know ND's future is bright, they just need to see ND thats what the trips are for, a big win helps, but a bad loss does not hurt that bad because of all the other benefits from the trip

plus, after the MSU game last year there were a ton of recruits in the locker room and they felt like they were apart of it, and they felt the team's emotion and made that connection, sometimes thats as important as celebrating a big win

but the motto for the day should be that not one recruit will say well ND got killed I am not going there.

I promise that will not happen

TD, out of the recruits there who do you think we still get?

Out of officials:

I think we get

Gray, G. Little for sure

I think we have a good chance at

Barksdale (my only reservation being that OSU may make a late push) i think for sure we lead with him right now

and Edwards (if he qualifies, i didnt know this but mike frank brought up that he may not have cleared admissions yet)

I don't know about Sturdivant, im not sure what his deal is but we will know more after the visit

out of the unnofficials

I think we get

Tez and hughes

I don't know much about chris walker and his feelings, like TS ill know more after the visit

I think RoJo goes to USC

If C. Little made the trip i think we get him too, havent had any confirmation he was there

and juniors we got a long way to go so i won't speculate but i would say filer for sure, just not any time soon

lastly everyone committed will stay committed, and this will not effect Benn and Romine already being on board

thanks :)

anytime

TD, I could write a LONG ranting rave about your posts. I'd love, too. The reality is that you are a disillusioned soul that sticks to your point like a fool. Of course we will be back on top, with the likes of Army, Navy, and AF on the horizon. We WILL be undefeated in the games leading up to USC. But, unless something REALLY drastic happens with our personnel and coaching by Thanksgiving weekend, we will be thrashed by USC at least as bad as Michigan (and it pisses me off that after that loss I have to call them Michigan instead of scUM).

We ARE not even a top 10 team much less top 3. Wish we were, but, top 25 is about right. Maybe 17 or 18.

Forget berating me about my school spirit and dedication to The Irish. I have weathered through worse times than this and will never disown them. But, let's call a diamond a diamond and admit what we are. Not what YOU all thought.

wait how am i dillusioned we agree, i think we are top 15, you think top 25 thats fine

we both agree we win the next 8

and if the team played USC right now we both agree we would lose

i gave my three things we need to happen by USC to beat them

but im the one with the problem?

i said it wasn't weis, that it wasnt brady, that it is the corners, the interior line, and lack of a third wideout

but yet you come on here and make some ridiculous comment about me?

vagas seriously think, we agree on all of this except i think theres a good chance some of these freshman mature by USC, and I unlike you, understand that if we win the next 8 games we won't be ranked 20, that we will be up in the top 10 despite what you think of the team thats the way the polls will work, and that means we just have to beat USC, and yes this team that played today could not beat USC, but are you watching them right now, but there is a chance we improve, especially since it just means that a few guys have to step up, and who knows its one game, we got along time till we get there

if we are 10-1 heading into USC, we will be in a position to play in the BCS, and a win would put us there, who knows what the teams will look like by then USC does not look that impressive right now against Nebraska, its 7-3 and there is 7 minutes to go in the game, but sure i think they will improve before they play us, and i think we will too

so come on here and name call, but maybe before you post you should think a little bit and read what im writing, we will be 10-1 going into USC and then we will see what happens, but a 10-1 ND team will be ranked in the top 10 going into USC end of story, despite if you think we should be ranked in the 20's

WONK, WONK , WONK, you sound like Charlie Brown's freakin' teacher!

you sound like a the little bitch that you are, you come on here and make brash comments and do not support them

leave vagas, please for the sake of the board and the sanity of all of us just go away, otherwise i and the rest of us will beg and plead ryan to ban your worthless bitch ass

seriously you come on here, and pretend like you are the omnipotent, you have no sources, you make brash comments, and then you say stupid shit like your last post

ive had it with you and your brashness, take it somewhere else!

I appreciate TD's optimism concerning recruits and how this game doesn't matter, but if that's true then why do we shout out with glee when South Carolina gets beat (Gray), or Tennessee gets beat (Donald). Personally, I think it does matter in a recruits mind. They're kids, and want to be part of a winning team. ND absolutely sucked today, in front of a huge amount of recruits. Do we lose silent verbals over this? Probably not, but kids like Barksdale have to be holding their nose. At the very least, it puts questions in there head. Is Weis the offensive genius that everyone said? Yeah, I still think so, but after that game a kid on the fence may think otherwise. You know other recruiters are texting these 50/50 kids reminding them that all is not golden in Southbend. I think we may lose one or two over this embarrassment. I can't remember the last time ND sucked as bad as they did today. The crowd was largely out of it after about 41 seconds when the interception was run back for a TD. Even the announcers said that the ND campus was lackluster this weekend, and not as intense as during the Penn State game. Who knows, but I don't believe that this pathetic piece of football had absolutely no influence on future recruits. We'll soon see, and I hope TD is absolutely correct. Nothing would make me happier than to eat my words.

i have been telling you guys all along that these games don't matter that much, ours and others

i said it when all of you were so happy at USoC lost, when Tenn one or any others

the whole picture matters some

we sucked today but its not the end of the world, and don't let vaga's worthless posts make you feel any other way, he just wants to feel good about himself, maybe his parents should have hugged him more when he was little or maybe he just hates his life because he seems to find joy in being brash and pretending like he is god, just ignore him and maybe he will leave so our board can go back to being good again, its not like if we lose him we lose any inside info

vagas has had too many colt 45's

TD, fact is Brady missed more than a couple. We also dropped a few. With a couple of those knock-downs, sacks and INTs either BQ could not find the open man or else there wasn't anyone open. Probably both.

Brady Quinn does not suck. But neither is he Joe Montana, Tony Rice or even McDougal. Those guys probably had a little better supporting cast, but they also found a way to buy time and find a receiver.

And, BTW, your pissing contests are really tedious.

What is wrong with Quinn this year, by the way? He really hasn't been himself the first three games. I don't think its the heisman hype, but it could be the pressure of being expected to perform at the highest level all the time. Hopefully now that the bubble has burst on his heisman hopes, the pressure will be off and we'll see the old Brady Quinn in just enough time to exact a little revenge on MSU
