September 16, 200618 yr Jimmy Clausen if you're reading this grab a helmet and scoot over to ND stadium.
September 16, 200618 yr Sharpley? Clausen? What about Joe Montana? I have faith that Brady will get it altogether, but to pin the team's problems on him would be kinda unfair.
September 16, 200618 yr I said it in another thread just the other day. Something about BQ just isnt right, its like he's trying to hard. Too many off his passes are sailing and under thrown. I hope all the hype hasn't gotten to him, and he thinks he has to do it all himself ????
September 16, 200618 yr WHAT THE HELL IS SO GREAT ABOUT MARIO MANNINGHAM??? NOT EVEN CALVIN JONHSON OR DERRICK WILLIAMS GAVE US FITS LIKE THIS

I hope all the hype hasn't gotten to him, and he thinks he has to do it all himself ???? Ya I recall myself making small criticism of BQ and I got my head bit off by a couple guys AAA I want to make smart ass comments SOOOO BADLY right now, but it's not important anymore. What is important is that we get our crap together and come out with our heads in this game.
September 16, 200618 yr Simple. We have been revealed. We do not have a sophmore or junior class. You don't compete for a NC when you only have 2 out of 4 classes. Brady Quinn is a good quarterback but not even one of the top 3 in the US. We cannot afford to lose the turnover battle on the same day that BQ, JS and our secondary have bad days. I'm still saying that we are legitimate NC contenders... in 2008. This year -- 11-2 will be a great accomplishment. Either that or we're in for the greatest comeback in Notre Dame history and y'all can tell me I'm full of shit. And I'll thank you for it.

BQ isn't as good as everyone thinks, DW is NOT a gamebreaker, JS can be shut down, and most importantly the D has been VERY lucky lately. ND is a pretty good team, but I would put them at # 10 at best. I hope recruiting doesn't take a hit for this.

This has been one of his worst games and against the team I hate the most! How many sacks, hurries, and ints have happen today. DW is very good when we have a passing game, but not today.
September 16, 200618 yr Our offensive line sucks donkey balls. It's sad when the best one is your dang freshman. If Quinn had time, I think he would be fine for the most part. He has been obviously rattled since the first game. Sharpley...4th & 5 running it out of bounds pissed me off at first, but then, I thought...it's better than letting them run an INT back. Our line needs to go back to grade school, and Terrail Lambert needs to live up to his rating when he came in.
September 16, 200618 yr Oh come on you majority thinking here clausen waltez in and takes over leading us to an NC? Be lucky to go 9-3 with a freshmen. We are "supposedd" to have a veteran O line this year graduation kills us. Brady, heismen got crushed. Get realistic
September 17, 200618 yr we will be lucky to go 9-3 period next year but i will tell you what SJ if he is everything people say he is, then he will start because the two freshman this year are not getting any reps, so they arent getting that much better, and by the time the reps come after the season JC will be there im telling you now watch out for Jimmy, he has every throw in the book and we are seeing a few other freshman around the country playing well, and JC is much better than them im just saying watch out for him, im not saying the others don't have a shot, but this kid is the real deal
September 17, 200618 yr td, in this case, you certainly are being the voice of reason. everyone on this post needs to realize that we are what we are. a decent team, not a top 5 team. we will finish out the year on a good note, but we need to get some of these young guys in for reps; otherwise, we will be in deep doodoo next year. recruiting should be ok, not too concerned there. still, i hated to see such an ugly performance.
September 17, 200618 yr i still think we can make the BCS, but that means we have to beat USC i really dont think we will drop a game in the next 8, maybe MSU but i really think after the beating we just took MSU is in trouble therefore even if we fall all the way to 15 which is possible, in 8 weeks we will likely be up in the top 10 or higher again, that means we beat USC and we are in the top 8, which under the new rules assures us a BCS bid, i liked it better when 9 wins assured us a BCS bid, but now we have to be in the top 8 in the BCS rankings and i think that is a feasable goal for this team but we have to have a couple of things happen the freshman corners have to get reps and be prepared by USC, Lambert is not going to cut it at nickle and USC has so many good wideouts that Walls AND McNeil have to be ready to play the freshman guards have to get alot of reps, Carufel by all accounts has been very impressive at practice and Olsen too, i think Stewart is still getting used to the speed and his body shape change. But Olsen and Careful have to be ready because if im the poodle im rushing 6 and putting pressure up the middle lastly, we have to get a third wideout to emerge, i dont care who it is, but someone needs to become an option and fast, i keep telling you guys, without three wideouts Weis loses a significant portion of his playbook, and that is really hurting the offense, other schools get freshman wideouts who can play, its one of the easier transitions, one of our guys needs to step up, i wish it would be west or gallup because they could really stretch the field in the david givens role, but if it was parris or jackson that would be fine, just someone, i dont care if it is grimes, I just don't he is a long term answer those are the three things we need to have a shot at USC, in my opinon, and two of those three things solve the offenses problem, the good thing is for the next 8 games the O won't have to worry because all the defenses we see are sub par
September 17, 200618 yr Im sorry guys I meant 3-9 in 2007 NOT 9-3. Look we have this big vet offensive line. We have Mr Heismen Quinn. We have Weis. We sucked. A bunch of the line graduates. Quinn graduates. As I have said early on we need to develop a 2007 QB NOW in 2006. NOT wait for this High schooler JC. I've taken a bunch of flack by opposing guys thinking JC a freshmen will watlz in and win. Yeah tell me he's the real deal so was Quinn till tonight. This ain't christiancrud california JC is throwing against it's MICHIGAN. We lost and stunk doing so. We got taken to the woodshed bad. It is but salvage the rest of the season and develop a line on both sides for 2007 plus a QB. That is Brady must get us ahead enough to get someone in there. I do not mean Sharpley. Zach or Demi J.
September 17, 200618 yr I think a young OL actually does better. Maybe I am being optimistic, but you can't do any worse & Sam Young looks good, so we just need 4 other guys worth a damn to go with him. Then, we need two solid RBs.
September 17, 200618 yr CW is working on what we need to be a NC, if we can't get recruits to fill our needs ASAP, then it'll take longer. ND at the present time, does not have enough top athletes to re-load. Some time ago, a coach by the name of Woody Hayes fielded a team of sophomores, they went undefeated and met USC in the Rose Bowl for the NC. USC at the time was also undefeated, very balanced and had a running back by the name of OJ. The sophomores didn't know they were supposed to lose, they defied the pundits and defeated USC. These same sophomores went undefeated for 3 years, losing their last game to none other than scUM. They looked much like ND did today, they lost focus. I don't worry about a teams age; only their desire, determination, dedication and discipline.
